STUNNING RESORT in Riveria Nyarit
Marival Distinct We had rhe pleasure of visiting Marival Emotions & Distinct Resorts. Both are beautiful with Emotions having the shows and activities and Distinct being a bit quieter. Both resorts offered fitness activities by NRG2GO including pilates on the beach and Aqua Zumba taught by a fitness professional, which was a nice touch for people who like to keep active while on vacation. Pilates on the beach every morning at 8 am with the sound of the waves in the background was the best start to my morning. The food is excelleent especially at Omaggio, Mozzamare (great for breakfast) and Insu (rooftop skybar overlooking the bay and great to watch the sunset). We didn't have a chance to eat at Lemon Grass but guests said it was also amazing. The live theatre shows at Emotions are fabulous especially the new Vegas Show. The shows are great for the whole family and the dancers (entertainment team) are the best I have ever seen at an all inclusive resort. You can take the complimentary shuttle to and from both resorts. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles in each direction. I highly recommend both these resorts for families and couples who want an all-inclusive 20 min outside downtown PV in beautiful Riveria Nyarit. We cannot wait to return.

Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, service and food not so great
Staff was mostly polite and friendly, but coordination of effort was lacking. The front desk hit my family members with time share pitches upon arrival, our requested ( and prepaid) room needed repair, so we given a villa and a two bedroom suite for two nights. Nice rooms, but not near each other. We had to reach out to staff to get updates, which took time away from enjoying the beautiful weather and water. Food was inconsistent, and the wait service was more often than not unable to serve food at the same time at any meal - as in bringing food out 15-20 apart or completely forgetting people’s meals at the same table. The printed schedule with times of restaurant operation and a few activities was often wrong. Twice there was a mixology class on the schedule; twice we were told that the bartender knew nothing about it. The schedule said a restaurant was open until 12:30, when we arrived and 11:45, we were brushed off, by being told the kitchen was already closed. We asked for one hair dryer for our 4 room suite SIX times but never received one. Other than all of that, the rooms were beautiful, beds were really comfortable, the resort is easily walkable, and VERY clean and well maintained. Not all the food was meh, coffee, breakfast, wood oven pizza, and fish dishes were excellent .

Upscale, relaxed luxury resort
I'm writing this a couple days after coming back from a week's vacation here with my wife and toddler. I find myself missing and wishing I was back, which almost never happens with me. There are big pros and also some cons with this location but I think overall I do highly recommend it. Pros: 1. The atmosphere and the vibe of the place is fantastic. We went and checked out the sister property at Emotions and it was a wild, annoying, screamfest. By contrast, Distinct was calm, peaceful, and no crowds. 2. The food is superb. It's almost all a la carte and it really is fantastic. That being said the Italian options aren't great and after 6 days, everything kinda starts tasting the same even when they are really good. The drinks are also top notch. Now, that being said this isn't Michelin level or groundbreaking food. Think something like an upscale restaurant, which is still leagues better than typical all-inclusives. 3. The beach is immaculate with great sand. No crowds again, plenty of space and you don't have to fight for chairs. The water in this bay is pretty murky so you can't see anything, which is a shame because the biodiversity here is stunning. Stingrays, dolphins, whales, turtles. We even were lucky enough to see baby turtles hatch from the beach sand directly. 4. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. AC is nice. No issues with WiFi throughout the whole resort. No issues with hot water. I do take issue with the fact that I had to refill my own drinking water every day. Cons: 1. Amenities here are lacking. No combs, makeup removing kit, toothbrush kit, bar soap, tea, etc. The suites advertise laundry and kitchen equipment, but you literally have to buy your own laundry detergent, dish soap, and stuff to use them. 2. The sales pitches when you first get here are incredibly annoying. They push so hard for you to buy timeshares, massages, extra meals, etc. etc. Dudes, I just got off a long flight and navigated the annoying Puerto Vallarta airport exit experience with a toddler in tow. I am in no mood to have three separate salespeople try to sell me a timeshare after I repeatedly told you no. Thankfully this mostly stops after the first day. The timeshare salesguy is also a great DJ. 3. The hotel calls themselves a 5-star and maybe it is by Mexican standards, but the service isn't really 5-star. Maybe more like 4-star. 5-star means doing everything you can for the customer and really making sure the customer gets personalized treatment. I'm not a snob but I sure got told "no" a lot at this resort. "Can I please get some fries for my toddler who won't eat anything else and is currently throwing a small tantrum" "no" (from every single restaurant on premises). "Can I please get this meal to go so I can eat it in my room while my child naps?" "no, order room service". Not to say it's all bad, since it's generally pretty good. But I do expect better from a 5-star resort. I will say on my second last day onwards, most of the staff started recognizing us so things got a lot nicer on the service side of things near the end. 4. Meal service here, especially dinner, takes a long time. On Sunday night our dinner took 3 hours. Usually it takes 1.5 - 2 hours long. I'm guessing it's because all the meals are pretty high spec so it takes some time to make. I do have to say too, a standout moment for me was when the company I booked my return shuttle with forgot me and left my family stranded without transport back to the airport. The hotel bellboys helped us out without any prompting and drove us direct to the airport instead for no extra charge. That moment alone was what made me upgrade this review from a 4 star to a 5 star. I think as long as you adjust your expectations accordingly, this place really is fantastic. As mentioned, I would really like to head back.

10/10 Staff
Jesus & Kevin & Orlando & Carlos (Lemongrass) & Erica (omelet station) & Manuel (lobby bar) helped make our stay incredible. They always made sure we were looked after, with a smile on their faces. We have a gluten intolerance in the crew, and these guys had us covered. We look forward to our return ! Terra, Anthony & the kids

Great time!
We had great service from Carlos, Octavio, and Victor. They were very attentive. We had someone in our party with a gluten allergy. Carlos made sure even her drinks from the bar were okay.
