  A+ Resort

  My favorite resort to stay at in Maui, walking distance to Whaler’s Village is a plus. They make the best lava flows at the bar! We stay here twice a year. The staff are always friendly and the grounds are clean and very well maintained.

  Yuck

  This is my first and only review but I feel like the reviews I read on this hotel were deeply inaccurate. We’re actually on the property right now, staying in the Lanai tower. We used our club points to book a one bedroom. All I have to say is yuck. The photos make this place look beautiful but the rooms are icky. It’s clear they threw together a hasty surface-only renovation for the rooms in this old building that reminds me of an overpacked slum-like apartment building without any character or atmosphere. The room renovations are like putting lipstick on a pig. Truly. I cannot believe the number of club points it took to stay at this place. Highly regret. Stay elsewhere.

  DONT GO

  We arrived 4/10/26, as we checked in the front desk told us just walk down the hall and you room is there since we are already in Lahina tower. We spent 15 minutes looking for the elevator and asked a guest, not one worker around. After a 24 hour travel we arrive to our room only to find out we were completed lied to about our room. We were to have a 1 bedroom king suite. We called and confirmed this MULTIPLE times with laundry and a kitchen. When we got to the room, it was a conjoined motel room with a mini fridge. No laundry, no kitchen. I said okay fine, I am exhausted. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at the restaurant, great service the 1st night. We then went to the concierge desk because our ticket had said stop by the desk within 24 hours of arrival, it had been 2 hours after we arrived. The time was 7:03PM, the concierge was sitting there on the phone, we waited she looked up and said, “uhh we are closed, we close at 7.” I said, “Okay its 7:03, but okay sorry.” She was rude and pushy. 7/11/26- the next morning, we wanted to spend by the pool and just relax as we travelled 24 hours. The concierge desk called multiple times for us to come down. So we made our way there to someone named Lea. She was very positive and upbeat. However, she could not focus she would only give us our “reward or welcome gift” if we attended a 90 min. Session about our timeshare. Which we declined as we are already the highest owners, and we are already updated on everything. Because, we did not attend this 90 min sales session we did not get a tour of the facilities we did not get our welcome gifts. We did get a map of the grounds, and our itinerary, (not our tickets to our activities though). 7/12/26- Spa day, we spent about 20 minutes looking for the spa. No one told us it had relocated due to construction. As we walked into the new location, the receptionist made it clear that we were getting no amenities of the spa because as she said, “The hotel didn't tell us they were moving us and we have nothing here for the guests.” She then proceeded to have us fill out the forms. (we were scheduled for 2 massages by the sea). She did not walk us down she simply went to the window and pointed to 2 cabanas no curtains and said that is where we are to go. We proceed to the cabanas, upon arrival I was asked if I had a swimsuit on I said, “No, no one said I needed one on.” The masseur then told me to just get under the sheet and take my clothes off. She refused to close the curtains that the public could see, and there were people sitting on the beach infront of our cabanas, with children, and she wanted us to just get naked under the blanket. After the massage she rips the sheet off me and says,”OMG I forgot you didnt have anything on.” I was mortified. 7/13/26- we decided to have a beach day, we rented seats next to the beach it was fantastic, However we went to Longi’s the resturaunt in the hotel for breakfast. We are the 1st people to arrive this morning, we waiting 20 minutes to get a menu, our food was bland. No problem things happen, I go to pay, the waitress says, “Oh we dont do room charges.” Ok no problem I use my CC. Waitress disappeared for 30 minutes. I went to the bar to pay, the gentleman looked at me and said,” I hope you know it is going to be a while before i get to you.” Mind you there is NO ONE sitting at the bar just me to pay. Finally I say, “I just want to pay my bill.” He proceed to rip the card and the bill out of my hand and he walked into the kitchen. He did not return with my bill or my CC. He just set it down in the kitchen and walked away. He came back out and I said where is my CC, he says, “I dont know I gave it to someone in the back I am busy.” the waitress came back at this time and asked if I was ready to pay my bill. I said I had given my bill and the CC to the bartender. She then went to the kitchen and ran the bill. We left. Went to beach and wanted to swim in the pool however, it was FULL of kids.. No big deal. However, they were eating in the pool and through popcorn in the pool, not one worker said anything. 4/14/26- Our mid week we were to get housekeeping, well I had to call at 345 to see when they were coming, the man proceeded to tell me no one came because I had a DND sign on my door, I told him I did not because I dont even have a DND sign. He said well its going to be a while. Okay NP. Hour later they came up, did not fill the soaps or clean the floors or wipe anything down just emptied garbage and gave us new towels. We call back down to get soap for the shower, we had no conditioner or body wash. They brought up 2 shampoos in a bag and left them on the counter in the bathroom, didn't even put them in the holders. I said Okay I am tired of asking, so we bought our own shampoo, and conditioners and cleaners. When we got back we went to the concierge to get out tickets for our adventures, the women said oh it looks like you guys cancelled your adventures.. NO NO we did not! She was able to fix it and give our tickets. FINALLY! Wednesday- we only slept at the hotel and showered as we were gone all day. 4/16/26- we went to another island on a boat all day, upon return we went to do our laundry for our travels home. NOPE we cant they put a time on when we could do laundry only until 8pm. Which was fine because when we did do our laundry the power kept shutting off and we had to restart the load every time. 4/17/26- We left. And will NOT return. The people with the connected room- smoked in their room, I said something to multiple employees Not 1 person cared! Not only cigarettes but pot too. The food was plane, the service was terrible, we will never go back to this hotel.

  Another Enjoyable Stay

  The Marriott Maui Ocean Club provided a very nice stay. The ocean front room had outstanding views and the whales provided a great show. We could HEAR the whales slapping the water! An amazing experience. The room was good with housekeeping every other day. The AC could have been better- just was not enough of an issue to deal with maintenance during the vacation. The wifi, tv and bathroom were all very good. I miss the sidewalk that appears will never be replaced which forces you to walk through the sand about 100 yards, walk around out to the street, or take the trolley. We actually walked to the Hyatt a couple of evenings instead and enjoyed their restaurant instead of going to Whalers Village. It is sad they can not figure out how to replace a side walk that was there for decades. The food at the pool area was good and pricey - about $25 for chicken tenders. A tropical drink from the pool bar about $23 with tip - so be prepared. I wish the Marriott had an evening beach bar for a casual dinner like the Hyatt. It was a close enough walk on a sidewalk. The pools continue to have a shortage of shaded chairs available. This is not the fault of the hotel - just guests that go down early and throw their stuff on chairs to reserve them all day - so that nice resource goes unused for many hours of the day. The afternoon activity around the pool was nice - snacks and live music was a bonus. Its about a $70 Uber ride each way from OGG.
