Stayed overnight on a trip out of Athens and was happy it was only for a night. Service from staff was inconsistent. Breakfast was just okay, few options and scant even early in the breakfast service hours. One standout was the wonderfully comfortable beds. This is more of a residential neighbourhood with some quirks and most significant sites are not within easy walking distance. Fortunately, taxis are quite reasonable in Athens so if you prefer to be near the action, this isn’t really the place. Having stayed at other Melia properties, this one was a bit of a letdown.

Aug 21, 2026Fantastic start to our Greek island tour!
Excellent hotel in every aspect! I’ll explain why: 1. Location - centrally located, nothing is too far and we used uber/ local taxis to get most places and they were reasonably priced. The views from the rooftop bar/restaurant/pool area are stunning especially and night and we finished our evenings off there on each of the 3 nights we stayed. I’ve seen some reviews stating the hotel is in a dodgy area - we did not think so! 2. Service was excellent throughout - from a late evening check in through to check out - staff were polite and courteous and most importantly helpful. 3. The food was great in the rooftop restaurant! We ate there in the first night and then had snacks throughout our stay. 4. The pool area is fantastic! There aren’t many loungers so if you do want some together you might struggle unless you get there at 10.30 when the area opens. That suited us as we spent time by the pool in the morning and went out exploring in the early evening when it wasn’t so hot! 5. Value for money. We had two rooms during the height of the summer and I thought the price paid was reasonable, particularly compared to other hotel brands. All in all, a great stay and a wonderful start to our holiday. Thank you Melia Athens!

Great stay
Well located. , very. Comfortable clean rooms. with a great mattresses !! Polite helpful staff. . Basically you know what you’re going to get at Melia and Athens certainly delivers . I choose the hotels I stay on the gym first . I. looked ok online … it was oldish Tecnogym equipment but acceptable. To my surprise and absolute joy it’s all been upgraded and is brand new Tecnogym equipment 👏👏👏 Makimg such investment and not advertising it to guests on Its website is modest and silly too . Well done though 👏👏👏👏 Great breakfast choice and great stay Thank You.

We liked the location. Easily walk around. The neighborhood are rough. If you expect clean streets and beautiful buildings this is the wrong area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great room. Spotless cleaning. Remember to tip the cleaning staff. They do a great job. I am a regular Meliá guest. The breakfast are not worth the money. It is not a normal Meliá standard. It is not only bad. It is really bad. I can not give a 5 when the breakfast is so bad.

Excellent option for non-touristic location
Even that hotel is quite close to historical sites, this place is not in the busiest area and offers great local restaurants near by. Rooms are nice, different than standard hotel rooms and especially room with hot tub is worth recommendation.
