  The Highs and the Lows

  First off - this is a vast property. Really large - the largest resort we have ever attended. This was also the first time we travelled during the Canadian Thanksgiving week-end. The arrival was quick and our bags were ready for pick up immediately. We had arranged a shuttle to the hotel. Upon arrival, we were taken to the Level Lounge, for check in, which again, was quick. Our rooms were ready immediately. Unfortunately, the rooms were old and dated. The hotel is going through modernization and there is a lot of construction going on. We were in building 50, which was closer to the main lobby with restaurants, but a distance from the beach. The shower especially was very dated and tiny - quite disappointing. Bring bug spray because the mosquitos were in full force. The buffet was clean. The resort really caters to a European taste for food. The food choices remained the same. Breakfast was disappointing in that there were no cereal boxes, limited bacon and the omelette stations were disappointing (eggs under cooked). No maple syrup either. Food choices for lunch were also limited. There were no beach restaurants open and no pop up food stations or snacks available, outside of at the Kids Water park. The drink selection was also limited - we were in the Level and consistency told they ran out of Aperol Spritz or could not make a chocolate martini, apple martini - disappointing. The Hibachi experience is not included in the package. The Hydra Therapy at the spa, was included. The shows were good, but limited seating and lots of pillars blocking views. We often retreated to the Level lounge for a drink and to play cards because the music was played way too loud and would go on until midnight - so those with young children - every in building 50, you could hear the music perfectly into the night. The beach was large and gorgeous. The pools are clean, but dated. Overall, this was a good resort, but not great. Not many staff spoke English, so thank goodness for Google Translate. No ice cream or desert areas for kids throughout the day. I left the resort feeling hungry, which is never a good thing. The shuttles are also limited and are often full. Staff are constantly cleaning and maintaining the resort. The bedding and towels were clean and the beach towels were thick. I would not return.

  Beautiful spa. Carmen was wonderful and did a great job. All the staff was very nice and helpful 💖 One thing missing was warm water which is why I didn't give them a 5 star review

  AN UNFORGETTABLE BAD EXPERIENCE AT A 2-STAR RESORT!!

  I have been traveling for over 35+ years and I’ve never been exposed to so much lack of professionalism and service, subpar condition of the resort rooms and lack of entertainment. Front Desk Manager attempted to use deception, tricks, lies and subterfuge to illegally make me pay almost $4,000 for a hotel suite I already paid for through Interval International. I showed and produced evidence in several different ways to show that I wasn’t trying to lie, cheat or illegally obtain a 2nd suite. This looked like a “MONEY GRAB” or attempt to get EXTRA MONEY from me. My friends and I had to take cold showers and use cold water from the sink despite complaining about such. We were unable to get clean fresh face cloths regularly. Took (2) days to get face cloths despite calling and visiting the front desk. Room refrigerator wasn't stocked regularly as per all-inclusive services. Dilapidated rooms with old ceiling fans, tvs, beds and furniture. Dirty Toilets. Dinner service at the restaurants were very slow with unappealing menus and food that wasn't very good. We eventually had to go to the Buffet Restaurant to get full off of chicken,beef stew or desserts. Notwithstanding, this resort does not validate a 4 or 5 star rating!!! Furthermore, the unforgettable experience it provides definitely isn’t a GOOD ONE!!

  Great stay

  We are currently staying at melia cabre beach and so far our experience has been brilliant such a beautiful resort and very peaceful staff have been extremely nice helpful in every location of the hotel entertainment team are great i eould defo recommend this hotel and so much to do :)
