OUR VISIT TO THE LEVEL We stayed in The Level block in August 2025, It was a nice room with a few extras such as a coffee machine and toiletries, clean and tidy although the glass wall between bathroom and bedroom was not ideal, if you need to get up in the night and put the light on whoever sleeps on the bathroom side will get a blast of light. The Level had a nice selection of breakfast choices, although a few more gluten free choices would of been nice, the lunch menu was the same for both blocks the club sandwich was actually really good value and came with chips, evening snacks were nice but very limited on gluten free options although (I'm sorry I didn't get her name, had calf tattoos) she was great and would find me an alternative. The only thing I would say is the dress code from pool to inside, I understand a shirt must be worn and yeah that's fine but when men wearing thongs and tiny speedos and the shirt is waist length, and your sitting down it's not ideal, Great location for exploring

Another fantastic stay at the Melia Costa del Sol, our 4th, we stayed for New Year. New Years party was fantastic as was the Gala dinner, free wine with the meal and the free bar was really appreciated. Lovely to see Tamara again, she is excellent at her job and always welcomes us back. All the staff are fantastic and a credit to the hotel. We had an issue with our room, after the party we were locked out so at 2 am, after the maintenance guy tried to sort the issue, the very kind reception staff moved us to another room. The next morning at 8:45 am there were two maintenance staff to fix the issue. The prompt attention to our issue was very much appreciated. Could not fault anything at all. Once again room was very comfortable and very clean. Food at breakfast and dinner was really good with lots of choice. Good atmosphere in the hotel bar and drinks are reasonably priced. Had another lovely winter break and will be back

Excellent food and service
We have just returned from an 18 night wonderful stay at this hotel this being our 5th or 6th Christmas visit but in this case extended to celebrate my 70th so we enjoyed Christmas New Year & the 3 kings January 6th which is their Christmas day, As always excellent food service & the best staff members ever, every member of staff / management are always happy hard working & extremally pleasant, a special thanks goes to our wonderful caring friend Tamara/ Tami the most customer service orientated switched on lady who looks after the roof top bar who loves her job & shows with the customers who all love her to bit's so sorry we missed you before going home. The hotel put on a fantastic full English traditional Christmas dinner as was the New Years eve & day dinner, but the highlight was defiantly the New years eve dinner the chefs excelled themselves with their display of food everything from Lobster langoustines prawns so much wonderful displays of food the staff in the restaurant gave us lovely golden bags with party goods & a small bag with 12 grapes !!! yes tradition is to eat & make a wish on every count down stroke of the clock. A big shout out & thanks to the Management for their wonderful gesture Free wine with dinner plus a free bar from 9-15pm to 2am WOW, plus a big thanks for my surprise birthday gift sent to my room. A Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Staff and Location!
Our recent stay at this hotel was fantastic, offering a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. The lounge area was a highlight, a great spot for relaxing with more than enough comfortable seating available. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the lounge manager for her exceptional dedication to guest comfort. Special thanks also to the egg station chef, who remembered my omelette preferences every morning and prepared them perfectly. It was wonderful to start each day surrounded by such thoughtfulness and a positive atmosphere. The staff throughout the hotel were superb: attentive, friendly, and always willing to help, which really enhanced our experience. The location is truly perfect, right near the old city. While reaching the city level requires climbing the stairway, there is also a convenient elevator option, making access easy for everyone. Getting around from the hotel was a breeze, with a train station nearby that provided comfortable and easy access to both Fuengirola and Malaga. We dined at the Beach restaurant, the sea bass fish was fresh and perfectly grilled, and the service was excellent. The evening buffet was enjoyable, though there is potential to elevate the experience further. The cold buffet and salad selection were fantastic and a definite highlight. However, some hot dishes could be improved: the paella lacked the authentic Spanish notes of saffron and smoked sweet paprika, the pizza base and cheese quality could be higher, and some Asian wok dishes need an upgrade. Additionally, the dessert selection was not suitable for those with lactose intolerance. Considering current €25 evening rate and €68 Christmas Eve price, we see potential to raise costs for enhanced food quality. A special mention must go to the evening flamenco show, which was a really nice performance that we absolutely loved, it was the perfect way to end our days. Overall, a brilliant hotel experience that we highly recommend!

Very enjoyable short stay in an excellent hotel.
Really nice short stay. As always with my reviews this is an honest and no fluff review of our experience. The room we were given on the 7th floor in building 2 was very comfortable and modern. Spotlessly clean. I could see that other rooms were being worked on so perhaps there are modernising other rooms. The friendly and helpful staff and the quality of the food were the highlights of the stay. The Buffett was excellent and choices changed slightly each day. Food quality was excellent. The price of beer and wine was not excessive. We stayed in winter so the outside pool was too cold to Use. The main disappointment for us was that the spa was overpriced for the time that is allowed. The facilities looked very nice although 45 mins was just not long enough for us to pay the 20euros each. I would urge the hotel to consider changing this. The location of the hotel could not have been better with access to the beach front / walkway and the main commercial areas. Overall we were very happy with our stay and want to say thank you to all the staff on site.
