25th Wedding Anniversary trip
My husband and I returned on Friday from a five night stay celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We have never stayed on the island of Cozumel before so we did a lot of researching for all inclusive resorts. We ended up choosing the Melia and I have to say that we had one of the BEST trips we have ever had. We decided upgrade to The Level and it was worth every penny. We were escorted to The Level Lounge upon arrival and met our concierge Gerardo. Let me just say, Gerardo was beyond fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Our room was decorated with “Happy Anniversary” decorations and there was a bottle of chilled champagne. He booked our reservations for dinner and the bali beds at the beach and pool. He anticipated our every need. Santiago and Felipe the bartenders were fabulous!! They have such great personalities and they took great care of us. The Malibu Bay Breezes were soooo good. Diego the beach server was on point! I don’t think I ever went without a drink, he was always coming by and checking on us. Jose at the buffet was great. Last but not least have to give a shout out to Ivan the Great, not the terrible, lol. He helped us with a private tour guide to take us sightseeing one day. We are able to make our own itinerary and it was wonderful. We saw the San Gervasio ruins, went across the island to Coconuts then went into town for local cantina. One of the best days ever. I was very impressed with the actual resort. It was extremely clean and I never saw one scrap of trash on the floor, I saw the grounds staff constantly cleaning. Our room was always clean and well maintained. Also, every single staff member we came in contact with was very friendly and always greeted you with an “Hola”. I know a lot of people complain about the lack of restaurants and food but again, we researched and knew going in there were only 2 restaurants and the buffet. Everything we ate was amazing and so good. We at the buffet for all three meals one day, had Fish House for breakfast one day and dinner. We ate at the Mole and the little taqueria for dinners. During the days we got chicken quesadillas from the snack stands (I don’t think I’ve ever eaten more quesadillas than I did last week). We have stayed at several all inclusive resorts, both adults only and with our children and this resort, was exactly the one we needed for this trip. It was smaller, quieter and we were able to relax, unwind and enjoy the week celebrating our marriage. Thank to EVERYONE at the Melia for making this trip so memorable.

Heavenly Week!
We have never been to Cozumel. My husband and I brought 2 18 year old girls and all 4 of us had a wonderful time. I strongly recommend looking at The Level if you have all 18+, as the difference was divine - both in location of room, special section of the pool/beach, and the access to special breakfast restaurant. Our Level concierge, Alfonso, was amazingly dedicated on the daily. The bartenders were SO friendly - Enrique especially! And Arcangel and Rafael were waiters always greeting with a smile in the restaurants. The staff really want you to have a wonderful week, which we did. Last but not least, Ivan in the snorkel shack was SO helpful setting up off-site snorkel and diving trips, as well as a snorkel explore just 10 minutes down the beach. The only caveat to this hotel is that if you are primarily snorkel/diving, the focus for this is the south end of the island and will require a taxi to get there (about $40-60 RT).

Vacation time
Hotel was very clean, staff friendly, food was a little disappointing as it was either over salty or dry. The pool did close at 8:00pm. If you used the upgraded service you had more choices to choose from. Overall a good experience. Remember to bring cash with you as some place do not accept credit cards.

25th Anniversary Trip
This was our first trip to Mexico and to Meliá Cozumel. We selected this resort because of the number of positive reviews it had received on Trip Advisor. From the time we arrived, we were treated so well. The details of thenall-inclusive package were explained clearly, and although we didn't elect to upgrade to The Level, our room was a premium one-bedroom ocean view room on the 12th floor with a jacuzzi on the terrace. The staff were wonderful and everyday we saw staff members working to keep the resort clean and lovely. We had most of our meals at the Mosaico buffet, where breakfast was our favorite meal, followed by l7nch. Dinner was hit or miss, with meals following on a different international cuisine each evening. We also had dinner at The Fish House and Molé, 2 restaurants on site. While the meal at The Fish House was OK, we really enjoyed our meal at Molé. They even gave us a free bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The fact that there are 2 separare pools, one for adults and one for families, is a plus. We particularly enjoyed the pool bar in the adult pool. We had a power outtage in our room and on the morning we were leaving, the rooms safe wouldn't open, but each of these issues was resolved promptly and to our satisfaction. Taxis are plentiful and the bellman called one over anytime we traveled off site. We were able to get downtown by taxi for about 200 pesos ($10 USD, not including tip) one way. Meliá Cozumel is on a quieter side of Cozumel, which made it the perfect place for us, as we're in our late 60's and wanted a more serene locale. We would love to go back!

Like a small boutique hotel.
You've got to take a Level room with sea view and you will be happy each morning! Small property with a few restaurants. Very convenient for a spa retreat. There were few offers for 90min massages which were ideal. Also there is a gym which is quite convenient. IG LeSteveDuJour
