Good value 5* hotel
Warm welcome from the moment we arrived. Smooth check in. Room was ready early, clean and well appointed. Great views from 10th floor towards palace. Breakfast plentiful. Good location for palace and other attractions. Fair price for a 5 star experience. Highly recommended.

Absolutely NOT 5 star (2 on a good day)
Far from a 5-Star Experience Meliá Princesa Madrid is a hotel that claims 5-star status but fails to deliver on almost every front. The decor and furniture are visibly damaged and outdated, and the room design seems to lack any consideration for guest comfort. Lighting resembles that of a low-grade hospital—cold and uninviting. Noise from connecting rooms is constant and disruptive, and the bathrooms are poorly designed to the point of inconvenience; one must sit sideways on the toilet due to the odd placement of a sliding glass door. Despite upgrading to the hotel’s “best room” for a five-day stay, I found myself repeatedly disappointed. The WiFi barely worked, and the hotel even charges 4 euros for a tiny bottle of water, a clear sign of misplaced priorities in a supposedly luxury establishment. The only highlights were Daniel at the front desk and Jose and Antonio at the bell desk, who showed true professionalism. However, their kindness can’t redeem the hotel’s fundamental issues. I wouldn’t recommend Meliá Princesa Madrid to anyone—certainly not at this price, or even for free. Look elsewhere for a genuine luxury experience.

Thumbs up! Would definitely return here!
Great hotel and great location! We will definitely return! Had a Junior Suite and it was amazing. Loved the Level Lounge as well. Really, really liked our stay here. Nice staff as well. Close to metro as well. Nice decor in lobby and room. Loved the large 2 person shower in the suite.

OK, I guess
First the good: Staff is great; friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are quiet. Beds are firm. It's clean. Now the not so good: rooms are just plain weird. Lighting is goofy. Space is quite limited. Layout is unusual to say the least. Tubs are slippery. Lobby is small and often crowded with tours and airline personnel. Not really a five star, except that it meets the minimum rating criteria (silly slippers, for example).

Good - not 5 star but quite adequate hotel in Madrid - Location is excellent
The location of the hotel is very good within walking distance to Madrid main attractions, and also a minute away from the Metro. The place is surrounded by restaurants and bars. It is not really a five star hotel. It needs a refurbishment in the rooms. It is more for a 3.5 or four star than a five star. But also you’re not paying five star prices either. The rooms are sort of basic as there’s no luxury. That is compensated by the location, and for the room amenities which is all you may need for a short day in the Spanish capital. There may be better hotels in Madrid, but this one will meet the requirements of any discerning traveller and you don’t have to pay a fortune to enjoy a relatively appropriate level of comfort. Recommended.
