So special
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another Wonderful Stay at NIZUC ❤️ We’ve just returned from another fantastic two-week stay at NIZUC, travelling over from the UK, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. Once again, we have absolutely nothing negative to say. What makes NIZUC so special to us isn’t just the beautiful surroundings, the amazing food or the incredible facilities — it’s the people. The staff are truly wonderful. They are so friendly, kind, hardworking and genuinely caring, and it’s their warmth and attention that makes every stay feel so special. There are a few people we really want to give a special mention to. Thomas, our golf buggy driver, was always so lovely and helpful. Armando, Christopher and Dario in the lobby were simply the best bartenders and always made us feel so welcome. And our beautiful Angelica and Sandra at the pool — thank you for spoiling us every single day and making us feel so looked after. ❤️ We’ve been lucky enough to travel to some lovely places, but there’s something about NIZUC that keeps bringing us back. The staff remember us, make us feel at home and genuinely care about making our holiday special. Those little personal touches mean more than they probably realise. Thank you to everyone at NIZUC for another unforgettable two weeks. We’ve made more wonderful memories and, as always, we leave already looking forward to our next visit. See you next year! ❤️🌴☀️

Gabriela at NIZUC Spa: one of the best deep tissue massages I’ve ever had
My stay at NIZUC was very enjoyable, but there were two things in particular that truly impressed me: the breakfast and the Spa. The breakfast is exceptional: incredibly varied, beautifully presented, with high-quality ingredients and such a wide selection that it easily became one of the most enjoyable moments of the day. A very special mention, however, must go to Gabriela and her 90-minute Deep Tissue Massage. Probably the most expensive massage I have ever had, but I can honestly say it was absolutely worth it. I often suffer from significant tension around my shoulder blades and rhomboid muscles, which is actually why I rarely book massages: in my experience, they seldom really address the problem or make a noticeable difference. Gabriela did. She worked for 90 minutes with remarkable skill, immediately identifying the areas that needed attention and working on them very effectively. By the end of the treatment, my back and shoulder blade area felt significantly better. For me, this is exactly what distinguishes a simply pleasant massage from a truly excellent and effective treatment. The price is certainly very high, but when the result is this good, I consider it money well spent. My compliments to Gabriela — she is truly excellent at what she does.

Beautiful Resort, Terrible Service — Not Worth the Price
I was extremely disappointed with my stay at NIZUC. For a resort that positions itself as a five-star luxury property, the level of service was nowhere near what I expected—especially at this price point. The biggest issue was the staff. On multiple occasions, I found them rude, dismissive, and simply not accommodating. At breakfast, I ordered an omelette with goat cheese and was given mozzarella instead. When I pointed it out, I was abruptly told they “don’t have goat cheese,” even though I had literally been served goat cheese the day before. It wasn’t even the mistake that bothered me as much as the dismissive attitude when I brought it up. Getting around the property was another constant frustration. The rooms are so separated from the restaurants, lobby, pools, and other areas that you have to rely on their shuttles. We were repeatedly told the shuttle would arrive in three minutes, yet each time we waited well beyond that. There is also no easy way to call someone and let them know you’re standing there waiting. At a resort designed around guests needing transportation to get around, the shuttle service should be seamless. Everything also feels like an additional charge. I was shocked that simply accessing the steam/spa facilities was around $200. I have stayed at luxury hotels in Beverly Hills where the overall experience and service are significantly better and the amenities don’t feel this excessively priced. The property itself is beautiful, but beautiful grounds do not make a five-star experience. At this level, service is everything. Unfortunately, the dismissive staff, inconvenient transportation system, excessive charges, and lack of genuine hospitality completely overshadowed the resort itself. For what NIZUC charges and the reputation it promotes, I expected exceptional service. Instead, this was one of the most disappointing luxury hotel experiences I’ve had, and I would not return.

If you want to feel like you are in Bali not Mexico and don’t care about having a usable beach— Nizuc is for you
Let me preface this by saying that I have been to Mexico countless times and have been to the best resorts on the Riviera Maya, Cancun, Cabo, and many other Mexican beach resort areas. I really wanted to like Nizuc because the reviews I had read were excellent. Unfortunately this resort does not in any way live up to my expectations and 5 star resort standards. The resort’s aesthetic is very zen, almost like you were in Bali. The pools are dark colored and the decor is heavy on dark wood. It is beautiful but does not feel like a tropical Mexican beach resort. There are mangroves all over the property and you must be driven in a golf cart from building to building (you could walk the long distances but would pass out from the heat and be eaten alive by bugs) . But the most important drawback for this resort is the fact that it basically has no beach. There are two beach areas and both are TINY. At the La Punta beach area swimming was prohibited and the beach area was about as long as a lounge chair and rocky. In the other “larger” beach area, the water is murky because you are very close to a large coral reef, and the area is on an inlet so there is so breeze and no real “beach” to play in the sand or swim. This was deeply disappointing as spending time on the beach and in the ocean is one of the main reasons I like to go on beach vacations. The pool area was no more relaxing as the pools have more of a “plunge pool” vibe and are clearly not really intended for swimming. They are dark and have an infinity pool look to them that was fine for taking a quick dip but that was about it. Finally, the resort pricing was insane. I am from NYC and am used to very expensive restaurants and spas, but the pricing here was beyond comprehension. A 70min massage at the spa was priced at $400, lunch for 3 with no alcohol in the Peruvian restaurant on property (which was by far the best restaurant at the hotel and was excellent) was $300 and we were still hungry when we left because the portions were quite small. We ended up going to dinner offsite almost every night because we felt there were more beautiful and better options outside of the hotel. The fact that this hotel is technically on the hotel strip of Cancun made that an option, which usually is not available if you are staying on the Riviera Maya where resorts are spread out and not meant to be left.
