Ocean Blue - good, decent all inclusive that could use some small changes to be rated better.
Maximo Perez did a great job, his help was much appreciated getting our room changed due to a leak in our bathroom. Housekeeping great. Food average. Grounds kept well. Some staff friendly, some not so much. Beach, water is very nice. Overall good experience.

Best vacation spot ever
I had a great experience at this resort. My Butler Thomas made this the best vacation ever by making sure we had nothing but the best service throughout my entire stay.. Great food and entertainment everyday and night. Very friendly staff. The only thing was sometimes not having hot water for showers.

Overall experience was wonderful
Check in was easy our Butler Thomas Newton made our stay very pleasant he went above and beyond. We stayed in the Privileged area drinks and food was good as well as the daily entertainment. There was plenty onsite activities for adults and kids. We will definitely be returning.

Good experience but could also improve
We went for a family holiday- three generations of us. The good: The food in the buffet was excellent, and the beach and swimming pools were great. Nightclub was good. I enjoyed spending time in the Piano bar manned by Javier, with his excellent cocktails. Room for improvement: I was stung by a sea urchin on rocks and more can be done to warn tourists. Then, while the onsite doctor was both kind and skilled, the hotel clinic is linked to a private hospital and so are, I believe, overeager to send you on.

Long but Honest Review
My husband and I recently stayed at the Ocean Blue and Sand for our delayed honeymoon. Since we were celebrating we chose the Privilege Jr Suite. We arrived at the resort at approximately 12:30am and due to this we did not get a “welcome drink” (understandable but slightly disappointing). We noticed immediately the resort is VERY clean. We checked in, got dropped off via golf cart to our room, and decided to explore. I’ve never felt more safe so quickly despite it being the late hour of the evening. We had a couple of drinks at Overtime and wandered the rest of the resort on our way back. The rooms are very clean and we didn’t not find there were many bugs/mosquitos. The main areas of the resort are fumigated daily and rooms done once per week with a non toxins to humans pesticide. With booking privilege we had the opportunity to reserve our a la cart restaurants in advance and did so for the first three nights. We ate at almost all of them (Margarita, El Bodegon, Mascherati, Sensai and Route 66). We had excellent service at all except for Margarita on our first night, it took over an hour just for our appetizers to come out and the rest of the restaurant was served, being privilege this felt like a waste of money but I can assure you the rest of the nights made up for it! We floated between El Tortuga and the Villa Marina for our breakfasts and lunches. I have to point out Manuel, a waiter at El Tortuga, was hands down the best. We were greeted daily with a huge smile, he knew what we were drinking and he was all around one of the friendliest wait staff we dealt with. If you stay here make sure you try to find him when you have lunch and breakfast. Our first couple of days we generally used the pool bar and shout out to Bienvenido O! He’s worked at this resort for 19 years and his smile is contagious! We were sad to find out he would be having his days off in the middle of our trip but when he saw us later in the evening he was high fiving us and telling us when he was back which happened to be our last full day! This brings us to the Tiki Bar with our other new friend Carlos. The Tiki Bar is for privilege guests only and when I tell you he is worth paying the extra for privilege just to have him as your bartender I mean it. Very friendly, serenades you while he makes your drinks and he is one of the staff who made our trip amazing. Having privilege status gave us beach cabanas, exclusive a la cart restaurant for breakfast and dinner (Villa Marina), separate pool and beach areas as well as access to a butler. We dealt with Jhary and he was very attentive and made a point to contact us via What’s App every day with the activities schedule and would come find us at some point during his shift to say hi and see if we needed anything. I want to point out your privilege experience is what you make it. We didn’t not require much extra services or help so our experience with Jhary suited what we wanted/needed while others may not have enjoyed the level of service. We dealt with other staff members but the ones who stood out were Carlos at the Tiki Bar 10/10, Manuel in El Tortuga 10/10 and Bienvenido at the pool bar 10/10z. I even made a point to find a manager who just so happened to be the restaurant manager (Jose) and tell him how much we enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back. If you’ve made it this far we would rate the resort overall an 8/10, losing points for service in some places, housekeeping not always refilling our mini fridge (our butler made sure we had enough) and the fact that we were not warned we would be approached during our stay to listen to an hour long presentation. We were approached in the middle of our day at lunch time and felt pressured to an extent to purchase a membership with their resorts, we did not and to our surprise they did drop it as soon as we declined. If you’re looking for a resort as a first time vacation we would recommend Ocean Blue and Sand to any of our friends and family and will 100% be returning in the future.
