Massive resort with lots of facilities like Centerparcs in the sun
Great resort overall . We spent a week here after a fantastic week cruise to the ABC islands . Whilst classed as 5 Star this is based on all the facilities available and not so much the service which was mixed and very slow particularly in the main buffet restaurant. We stayed on the El Beso side (adult only ) which was great as had our own restaurant and beach bar where nightly entertainment took place ( silent disco , violinist, saxophonist, bingo ) . We were also able to use all the wider hotel facilities such as lazy river , 19 restaurants, 13 bars ( including lovely piano bar with great cocktails ) , theatre with nightly shows ( magic show was great ), gym , tennis courts , bowling alley , separate disco . My only complaint is the lack of available sunbeds in the El Beso pool area as these were all taken by 7:30 in a morning despite numerous signs stating do not reserve ! Most were never used all day . The same happened at the beach too . More control needed . Thankfully our balcony (17204) was in the sun until 1pm every day and we managed to get a bed or 2 on the beach later in the day . The room has a coffee machine but no decaffeinated coffee anywhere on the resort . Thankfully we took our own . The best restaurants in my opinion were Blue Moon ( rack of lamb and french onion soup) and Route 66 ( American diner) . The cookies in Mikes coffee shop were amazing Beach - yes there was seaweed but they tried to clear it every day and whilst the main sea was very rough ( red flag) , the lagoon was much calmer . You could also walk to the next few resorts which was a decent walk but lots of rubbish and plastic washed up Excursion- brilliant trip to monkey land and jungle buggies TIP take flat shoes as it’s a massive resort so a long way to walk around albeit beautiful surroundings . If you’re feeling lazy they do have a shuttle service around the resort too

Elizabeth Flora is the BEST BUTLER!
This was the best time at El Faro! I’m a h10 member so I have been many times. The beach is beautiful as always but unfortunately there’s always some issues with check in or room etc. Elizabeth Flora was my butter and she went ABOVE & BEYOND! This was the smoothed trip yet. She was great about following up & handling things. Shes a great listener and pays attention- on top of being a very intelligent and kind woman. Thank you Elizabeth for taking such great care of us! See you next time.

Great resort for winter sun, loads of entertainment day and night
Me and my friend visited for 2 weeks in Jan and we have had a great holiday. The resort is huge (approx 2000 guests) there is adults only (if you want this option book prior as it was about £80 before but approx $250 dollars here. There are lots of different room options and drinks packages. Our room was great with a big bathroom and very comfy bed, the cleaning was a little slapdash at times! The resort really caters for everyone. There are buggies constantly with bus stops, the beach is flat and has wooden slats for wheel chairs, ramps everywhere around the resort too. The hotel is doing a lot to keep the beach clean as a lot of seaweed is being washed up, so sometimes they have a digger. If you keep walking round there is a beautiful lagoon where the water is calm and clear. There is a lighthouse which has a lift, this offers amazing 360 views especially at sunset. The pools all have swim up bars, some have noisy (very fun) entertainment and some are more chilled, there is also a very cool water park style pool for kids. We loved the lazy river, go at lunchtime or after 5 if it’s too busy. The restaurants are all excellent, our favourite was Sukura (Japanese, Benihana style), Blue Moon (French) and the steakhouse food was fabulous. The lobby bar was our favourite, best cocktails and the bar staff were so welcoming and friendly, and also a very sophisticated piano bar. There are entertainment options day and night. Shows in the theatre, a lively square with live music, karaoke, silent disco, bingo etc. there is also nightly entertainment at the beach including a beach party with fire dancers. They have a lovely large spa and we booked in for a massage and facial deal which was good value. The only let down was the day sauna wasn’t working and my friend had a pedicure which wasn’t good at all. Take cash for tipping and you’ll get good service around the hotel especially at the bars.
