Omg big shout out to Viri. On our first night she was super friendly and took us to the fire show. Throughout the trip everytime she sees us she always says hello and asks how we are and she encourages us to join in activities, which are always good fun She is so full of energy and is always smiling and is an asset to the team at ocean maya royale .. The weather has been super hot and the resort is very friendly with daily activities. The buffet restaurant has plenty of choice for everyone. Rooms are air conditioned which is definitely needed. Unfortunately the beach has tons of seaweed, so not as picturesque as we would hope. But the lagoon a 15 min walk away is stunning.all the staff work super hard.

3 weeks in Paradise
The resort is excellent, staff warm and friendly. Food is excellent and activities plentiful Kendal and viri are so engaging with activities and coach us to learn new things, dancing, tie dying t shirts, Painting Would love to come again Pizza by the pool is excellent as sometimes you just want a snack for lunch

Great place to go!
We had a lovely time at Ocean Maya Royale, we were there for 2 weeks and couldn’t fault the resort or the staff. The cleanliness of the rooms is fantastic and cleaned everyday, the food is plentiful and always good quality and tasty, so many drinks available all served by friendly bar tenders, the staff on the whole were all very friendly and helpful some we got to know a little more after seeing them a few times and had a good laugh with them, but by far the best were Kendall and margarita from the entertainment team they were outstanding such fun people genuinely cared about us having a good time so a special thanks and shout out to them. Yes there is a seaweed situation no it doesn’t ruin the trip people are working there arse off to keep on top of it in the red hot weather each and everyday. Again a lovely place made even nicer by the wonderful team working here thank you for a lovely stay and memories we will keep forever. James + Cheri

AMAZING TRIP!
What an awesome trip! I went with my sisters and we just had the best time. The shrimp tacos are fantastic and the staff were all amazing!!! We loved Viri, Moses and Kendall! Miguel made the best drinks. The pool was the place to be as the beach had seaweed and was not the best for swimming. Such a great time, would for sure go back to this clean, friendly resort!

May 18, 2025Best part - the taxi back to the airport
The first thing that hits you as you arrive at this resort is the overpowering smell of drains - it is in fact rotting seaweed that is washed up on to the beach every night and is dried out by the sun and starts to rot. We knew it was a problem when, during check in, we were asked to sign a disclaimer that we would not complain about the odor. However, it is with you all day by the pools, it's in the resturants and don’t even think about opening the patio doors of your room as will soon invade that space as well. The hotel does try to lessen the impact by having a fleet of tipper trucks constantly being fed with the seaweed by a JCB, but the disturbance of the weed merealy adds to the reek. Only for the next day the ocean washes more back on to the sand. The resort is old and in a desperate need to and upgrade, it would not look out of place in a 70’s revival. The majority of the larger buildings have thatched roofs, that are in desperate need of replacing. To stop the infrequent rain from entering the resturants, the holes in the thatch have been plugged with black plastic bags, but this measure has failed. There are nearly not enough sun beds and umbrellas around the pools for the guests and so to get even the slightest hence of securing one to allow you to sit by the pool, have to be up at least by 05.30 to get one, because by 07.00 they are all taken. And the most frustrating art of this, a great deal of guest, having got up early to get seat, do not turn up to are use of it until after lunch. Clearly the Mexicans have a totally different concept of ‘All Inclusive’ as any decent drinks a have to be paid for as well as certain items on the menus. When arriving at a table you are encouraged to pick wine from a wine menu with bottles costing up to $40.
