    Felt defrauded, disappointed, and stranded

The property is under major renovation. What is open is broken and dilapidated, with significant deferred maintenance. The spa, the Main lobby, the Main dining room, the Bar/lounge, and the coffee/pastry shop are all closed. Outrigger purchased the failed property a year ago and is funding its investments by deceiving people into coming to its resort. Absolute fraud They ruined our 25th wedding anniversary.

Beautiful location & Pools…major CONSTRUCTION currently.

Wonderful location and easy to access from the Lihu’e airport as we landed in the afternoon and wanted a single night at a close location for kiddos to eat and have some fun before bed as well as the next day before we left. A beautiful property and the pools were spacious and fun. Waterslide, only 1 hot tub (spa) working, sandy bottom in 1 pool, deep enough in some, cool lava rock features, and accessible bar and drinks. The suite in building 3 on the 2nd floor (3 floors) was spacious and had a king bed and pull out couch. 2 lanais were nice to look at at ocean and overlook the pools. Room was well maintained and looked newer or recently remodeled. Hallways and buildings were nice and well taken care of. The beach was accessible and able to walk along the shore and in the shallow water as well as a trail along the dunes. Ocean is rough and not a swimming beach for most. Open lawns and grass areas to play with kids. Well maintained property. Unfortunately, they were doing expansive construction during our visit and it appears to be a major overhaul so probably not done soon. The entire entrance and lobby were being redone so check in and front desk were moved to the conference area. The construction was completely covered we didn’t see it but could hear it when walking by and unable to see the full resort. To get from our room, the restaurant, the pools and beach to the bellhop/front desk/parking was quite a maze of elevators and hallways (and stairs too that we chose). Ultimately it wasn’t terrible and we get that construction needs to happen - fortunately no noise at night - but it definitely impacted our stay. We were happy to only stay 1 night and not longer due to the construction and lack of a full resort feel. The worst part is we were not made aware of the construction until we arrived. Did not see it on the website, travel sites, or our ticketing site. The restaurant - Naupaka Terrace - had tasty food, live music, and koi ponds. Everyone was so nice, welcoming and kind so that is a major plus. Would stay here again and hope the enhancements to the property are great. One last plus is the beautiful banyan tree canopy when driving in/out. It is breathtaking and such a beautiful aspect of Kauai.

    Beautiful resort - great location.

This is a beautiful resort and we had a wonderful time. We were there while they were in the middle of a complete remodel so there were a few glitches. If you go after the remodel is complete it will be amazing. The rooms were lovely, we had a great view of the ocean, the grounds are incredible and there are lovely walking trails around the property. The restaurant was ok. Nothing special but good for a resort. There was only one restaurant open and the were working on it while we were there but the views are lovely. Charging $29/day for parking (non-valet) seems excessive.

Our Stay at OUTRIGGER Kaua‘I Beach Resort

My stay at OUTRIGGER Kaua‘i Beach Resort was great! When in Kaua‘i, we always stay at this resort, and we like the fact that it’s more laid-back, casual and homey. All the hosts at the property were wonderful. Elsa (our housekeeper) was particularly friendly and chatty during our stay which I loved. She was very enjoyable to speak with! Amanda at Driftwood Bar & Grill was another standout host - attentive, friendly and quick at her job. The property is under renovation so keep in mind that walking to different places around the property may take a bit longer to avoid construction areas. Other than that, loved out stay. The room renovations are a big improvement!

    Beautiful stay in paradise

Amazingly beautiful resort felt like heaven! Ballrooms are luxurious, clean, comfortable and easily accessible! The staff is friendly and highly professional and expertly trained with skills that made us feel like family. Trichael arranged for special accommodations to make all 55 of us happy. Eugene, Nelson and Ron quickly met all our banquet needs by supplying high quality service with delicious, nutritious gourmet meals. We were impressed by their willingness to create vegan and gluten free options for every single special request and we had a lot of picky-eaters! Thank you Outrigger management and staff for an amazing convention.
