Jan 25, 2026Wonderful Stay at Outrigger Reef Waikiki
We checked into the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort and were warmly greeted by Rick at the check-in counter. He was assisting two elderly ladies at the time, yet immediately acknowledged us and assured us he would help as soon as he was able. Rick showed incredible patience and kindness while assisting them, which truly stood out. When it was our turn, check-in and later check-out were effortless thanks to him. His welcoming smile and colorful aloha shirt were a wonderful reminder that the Hawaiian spirit is very much alive. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is clean, offers live Hawaiian music near the pool, and provided us with a perfect stay.

Kind of a dump. The rooms were clean but the pool and hot tubs have end of lifed. Upon arrival, I had lunch by the pool of fish and chips that were not fresh and a $16 daiquiri that tasted like they forgot the alcohol and was the wrong texture. I stopped by the concierge to get a pamphlet for the double decker bus tour, which I love doing to get oriented to a new location. The concierge was so rude to me and basically said "we wouldn't have that kind of thing here", but you could walk to some mall I never heard of and had no idea how to get to to get the pamphlet. Usually I stay at 5 star hotels and I am used to a different service level, but this was just dismissive and rude. That evening we tried the monkeypod restaurant, part of the reason for booking was access to organic food. I ordered the crab cake special, which was uncooked, $58 and my husbands stomach was off for the next 24 hours. We were served the bottom crumbs from a basket of fries, instead of a plate of fries and our waitress was confused about what the problem was. Great vibes but the food and service was having an off night. I booked the hotel based on it's high rating on trip advisor, but felt seriously misguided. This is not the move, wouldn't recommend.

I thought I got the wrong hotel
My husband booked the wrong hotel and I’m so glad he did. The Outrigger reef is such a beautiful hotel close to everything and it has a beautiful pool that my whole family enjoyed. Mary was our housekeeper and she did such a lovely job and was so sweet to me. My husband had heart attack while he was here and she was very supportive and helpful. Getting me everything I needed to be here by myself. I will definitely want to come back here again.

Renewed our vows.
The room is always clean. Our chamber lady Nelia done an excellent job and she is friendly, helpful. We also did our wedding renewal of vows.

Amazing service at the pool
Joenny at the pool was amazing! So helpful at the pool and recommend the best tours and attractions. Also very very polite!!! Highly recommend this hotel because of the service and we will definitely be coming back in August for our family trip again! 🙏🏽🤙🏽💗
