  Breathtaking incompetence when you report an incident!

  Our first stay was in April 2026, and for the first two nights we were left in a deplorable flooding one-bedroom-suite mess where the water flowed into the bedroom closet from the ceiling. But instead of connecting us with the manager as per request they gave us the runaround and the timeshare lady finally made an appointment for us to meet “Rohan Williams the manager”! When we met with him his solution was for us to email him the pictures in an email and request that the two nights refund should go towards investments of timeshare payments. Time sharing was his sales pitch was all he talked about and totally disregarded our conversation about the flooded place. He said that the first night they should have called him and he would have put us up in a timeshare property. To put an end to his long winded pitch which he did while eating his salmon breakfast, I offered to bring him coconut rum that he agreed to receive and then walked to the room leaving my daughter there, while she showed him the pictures and videos. And he wrote this email address BUT he didn’t respond to my daughter email, didn’t follow up with me about the refund and didn’t inform the resort manager, Mr. Perez either. BACKGROUND: The first night my daughter woke up to use the bathroom her feet landed in the flooding bedroom room cold water. She called the front desk and reported that situation, and that conversation woke me up. I was sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room and water was pooling in the dining room area near the sofa bed. This was after midnight! A maintenance worker came with a vacuum apparatus, a bucket and a mop. He spent over an hour vacuuming water from the ceiling and mopping up the water from underneath the bed and the floors. The maintenance guy explained that they had to replace something in the ceiling that wasn’t done yet so that’s why the water poured in from the ceiling but it was going to be done tomorrow. So I called the front desk and asked to be removed from that horrific situation but she said, “No rooms are available!” The second night we had the same after midnight flooding issue and I demanded to be moved or checked out to their resort so called. Suddenly she was able to find another place on the first floor. I complained to the lady at the timeshare desk who was trying to get me to attend a timeshare meeting because the front desk staff kept giving my daughter, who had booked our reservation, the runaround about meeting with the manager to no avail. And the ONLY reason I was able to get the resorts real manager Mr. Perez on the phone is because I had forgotten my $700.00USD cash in the sofa bed AND I reside on the island. Had I been living in the USA perhaps my horrible experiences and finances left behind issue would have been denied. When I mentioned about the flooded room, my meeting with Mr. R William and the email sent to Mr. R. Williams, he was unaware of any information about those issues. Additionally, the tourist need to be aware that Mr. Perez will only respond to TripAdvisor negative reviews, but when you report an issue or crime he’s never “aware about it!” If a criminal complaint goes to the police you have to be available for the investigations, perhaps hire a lawyer, and if necessary prepare for the court proceedings, which begin a financial long process if you live abroad, and pay for additional travel expenses if you have to delay your departure date.

  Nice quiet comfortable room on second floor with a view

  We had an amazing week at Oyster Bay and we were fortunate on getting placed in a studio room 2920, literally right on the water. You could hear the waves. We traded our 2 br Marriott for this studio, although a smaller room than we are used to, we wanted to try someplace new. This villa had everything we needed, and literally right on the water, comfortable, and quiet. I'm fussy about soft sheets on my bed, and this resort had very nice soft sheets, so A++ for that. Right from the start of our stay, everyone, including check in staff, maintenance staff on property (always working and painting, etc.), staff at both restaurants were super friendly. Everyone was always waving and greeting us with smiles. Big thanks to Precious, our lovely housekeeper, who came every day and kept our room tidy and looking beautiful. The Veranda Market had everything you'd need like coffee and fruit and staple items. We had a car and ventured out every day to walk the lovely beaches on the island. But coming back "home" to our room all neat and tidy was a great way to rest from our busy beach days. Thank you Oyster Bay Beach Resort for a lovely week spent at your resort. We hope to be back some day.

  ASSAULTED

  Was sexually assaulted by a staff member, Rohan Williams, and management refused to do anything. Not being from SXM , I declined to call the police. I was made to feel it was all my fault. This man is a serial predator.

  Better have a car, beach is gone

  We have been coming here for a number of years and have always enjoyed our trip. Starting last year the sargassum took over the beach. It was much worse this year. Even though a guy with a tractor makes a valiant effort every morning to clean up the mess, it continues to accumulate. The week we have been here, there has been no effort to set up the beach chairs etc because of the mess. According to the staff, guests are way down because of it. If you are interested in beach and beach activities, you are going to have to go elsewhere. Very sad because the staff is very nice. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

  Bug Infestation - Hotel refused to fix

  Our room at Oyster Bay Beach Resort was infested with ants at check-in. Management acknowledged the infestation in writing — their proposed fix was to spray chemicals in the room and have us keep staying in it. We left the same day. The manager verbally agreed we could leave with a refund, then later refused, offering only 50% because we "chose not to stay" in an infested room. We've spent days trying to resolve this through our travel agent and Expedia with no cooperation. Photos and email documentation of everything. If something goes wrong with your room here, don't expect the property to make it right.
