Great New Year's vacation!
We arrived December 31 to stay at he Kantenah family select (FS) for 12 days. Check in was easy, the family select guests have their own check in area, which also has video games and a lounge are, baking goods, coffee, water, etc available 24 hours. We stayed in Villa 50 in a swim up room, it was clean and modern. This villa is less than a 2 minute walk to the beach and about a 5 minute walk back to the lobby. If you're a beach goer the family select area is the way to go. It's for family select guests only with headrests on the loungers. There are speakers spread out through the area playing chill music, like Thievery Corporation or Schwarz & Funk, that's the style that plays all day, very relaxing. There's a beach bar close by, as well as beach restaurant and beach area close by that is roped off for adults only. If you're there with kids you can go over and grab food then bring it back to the no-adult area no problem, food was great. I have to mention the servers in the family select area, Joel and Leo. They were both very friendly and did their best to ensure we were properly hydrated! Also thanks to Israel, he manages the Balinese beds (there's a daily charge for these) and is happy to help anyone that needs anything. One of our teenagers had a birthday while we were there, Israel set up a Balinese bed with balloons and brought him a personalized birthday cake - it was a birthday he won't forget, we are very grateful for the service everyone Israel and everyone on the beach and bartenders/cooks for making everyday a memorable one! If we go back we would definitely do the family select again. The only thing I can think that may be an issue was we could hear chairs being moved above us in our room. If it happens in the night it can be a loud noise as the floors are all tile. If you're a light sleeper that could possibly affect you. The Nest buffet is for FS guests, and we could walk in anytime for dinner and easily get a seat. There's an other buffet nearby for the rest of the resort and there were lineups every night to get in. The food was good. I think you'd have to be a very picky eater to not find something you liked. For example the Nest had a decent sized buffet, but you could also order a la carte if you so desired. We also ate at La Hacienda, La Adelita, La Paisana, Bahia e Brasa, Portofino, and Sumptuori. Each one was good - it's a matter of personal choice which you prefer. The teppanyaki show at Sumptuori was excellent! All of the servers and staff at he resort are friendly and helpful, we didn't have any negative experiences anywhere. Unfortunately the restaurant availability has now changed, so we were glad to have access to all of them. The sports bar was open 24/7 and had typical fare, burgers and fries, some Mexican food, nachos etc and drinks of course. Lots of tv's to keep you occupied. Our 2 teenagers used the teen club, it has a pool table, ping pong, video games, a music room, and a 2 lane bowling alley (cost), our boys went there for a visit at some point everyday. The FS pool is directly behind the teen club, and although we didn't use it (we love the beach) it looked quite nice. All in all it was a great experience, we are experienced travelers with kids of varying ages. We are pretty easy going, but I would say if the place was lacking. The fact that I'm sending this review is a positive as I don't normally do reviews. We look forward to going back again!

Kantenah Vakation is a Klassic- Todo Bien!
We stayed in the Kantenah Garden View Rooms, no need to upgrade, we were very happy with the rooms, food, service, beach, shows and pools. We went with our grown boys (18 & 21), they had their own room right next to ours, easy. They loved the sports bar, the gym and the spectacular athletic playing fields ( never seen a resort have this)- we all played some tennis, Padel ( I think that's how it's spelled) ball, and some football on the fields and beach. Food The buffets were great, we do love Mexican food... also Pizzas always fresh, Pasta stations and stir fry bar, grilled chicken and steaks, tacos made to order, loved the pico de gallo, tuna ceviche, smoked salmon, green juice... crepes and always ice cream for dessert. The wine served at the tables was very decent (funny that at the à la carte, the same wines are $). We did 2 à la carte restaurants, and they were...okay (The Italian and the steakhouse), but... the steaks, pasta and pizzas we had at the buffets were much better. Pool Great, we did go swim over at White Sands too, all pools are quiet, and if there's music, it's not blaring and never were people trying to get you into the Aqua fit class. Beach Yes, over by the family section is the sandiest, and it's open to all except for the cordoned space, but got chairs, no problem, very close. Shows The dancers are excellent. Every night they did a great job with different themes, and we were all entertained. And there was a different band playing in the lobby right after, with the opportunity to dance ourselves. Beds: Very comfortable, as were the pillows. Grounds: At first, it seems like everything is far, but very soon you realize, not so much. Plus, there's a cart every few minutes wizzing by if needed. Jungle makes it a fun and tropical feeling. Excursion With only 6 days, we didn't want to go anywhere, but we took the collectivo just outside the hotel, went to Cenote Azul ( 10 minutes away), and swam in crystal clear water. Much cheaper than booking an excursion, and we were only gone a few hours, not a half or full day, and no stops ;) along the way. Spa We got a great deal from one of the reps on the beach, a very good massage, and a beautiful pool and daybeds to relax after. If you were at the resort with your partner, this is non-negotiable. Smile to the marketing team and keep walking, they will stop you very politely and want to tell you about the resort and... i dont know, cuz we didn't stop

Average stay
There is many places that need improvement, a disappointing stay. Some of the staff let it down for those who were really good and helpful.

Terrible, Poor
❌Thieves. Total abuse of customers, no accountability. Money was stolen from bags left in the room, suitcases with clothes were searched, and personal belongings were moved. Not worth visiting.❌
