An incredible one of a kind experience

Everything about this resort was incredible. From the moment we checked in the staff were so friendly and helpful. Everyone speaks English and Spanish. The rooms are beautiful with comfortable beds. The bathroom has two showers which is great when you’re rooming with a friend. Every restaurant has delicious food and drinks - mainly mocktails but alcohol can be added to anything. The beach was pristine and the loungers and areas to relax were one of a kind. The staff serving on the beach were also very friendly and helpful. Yassin did a wonderful job serving us and answering all of our questions. The optional activities during the day were our favourite. Everything was spaced out perfectly and we still had so much time to relax. I would 1000% recommend this all inclusive resort to anyone looking to relax, enjoy clean living, plant based (or not), mocktails (or not), yoga and meditation. I’d be happy to answer anyone’s questions about our experience :)

    Happy Return Visitors!

My husband and I just returned from our fourth trip to Palmaia. It's a wonderful, healthy way to start a new year and never disappoints. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We had a problem with the location of our room upon arrival and our nomadic guide, Andres, along with the staff at reception, made sure it was corrected immediately. Our new room was perfect. The food continues to be fabulous, although I liked the "old" home-style dinner menu at Su Casa better than the new Indian cuisine. That's just a matter of taste, though, and there was always another option. The breakfast at Su Casa is still the best, and I looked forward to it daily. Charley's taco truck is a real treat, and the refreshing coconuts on the beach can't be beat. The classes are wonderful and varied. Renee's sound baths are amazing. Everyone on the staff is so accommodating and welcoming. The beach is stunning, and the workers did an excellent job cleaning up the sargassum daily. Sargassum in January is not the norm, but we can't control Mother Nature. They would start cleaning the beach at 5:00 a.m. and worked so hard to keep the beach clean. We very much appreciated their efforts. I love everything about this place, so much so that I'm returning for a mother/daughter trip in March. Can't wait to return and share this amazing experience with her!

    Wonderful and unique resort

Here’s the short summary - this is an amazing hotel with fabulous food and great staff. If this is enough for you, stop reading and book your visit… And now some more details: The resort - it is a lovely property, modern and well decorated. The rooms are large and have all the amenities you might expect and more. The resort is on the larger side but it never felt crowded - there’s so many places to sit and chill that many times we felt almost alone. Note that due to the resort size it can take a while to get from place to place but they have bikes and golf carts can come get you but the walking isn’t a bad option and the path is shaded. Building 7 is adults only and buildings 5-7 are in front of the beach sitting area. Higher floors have ocean views. The food - it is top notch - it is creative and full of flavors and color and presented in an artistic manner. It was the highlight of our stay. Although the menus are vegan by default, the non-vegan/non-vegetarian options are easy to add as they are actually recommended in the menu - that was a pleasant surprise. Just don’t expect sit down and order a steak… and not every dish has an alternative so it’s a bit more limited. There’s four dinner restaurants and they were all very good though not all are open every night. Our favorite was Su Casa where they serve breakfast and lunch every day. All the food is freshly prepared as there’s simply no buffet anywhere. The dishes are not very big which makes it easy to sample multiple things and also reduces waste. And the staff encourage you to order multiple dishes and try all the food. Always try what they recommend - we were never disappointed. Drinks are also creative and presented in a beautiful manner (all come with alcohol optional). Service was always friendly and it was really fast at first but as the resort filled up things got somewhat slow. The staff - they are all extremely friendly, more than any staff at any all-inclusive resort we ever stayed at. There’s also a lot of staff so you constantly get served and supported wherever you are. On arrival you get assigned a couple of nomads who help take care of you during your stay and they are really great at looking out for all your needs and answering questions. But it’s not just them - everyone in the resort, whether it’s waiters, greeters or cleaners, are all friendly and welcoming. The beach - it is a lovely strip and there’s a lot of places to sit so you never have to get up early to grab a spot. On some days the beach had some areas of seaweed invasion (a fact of life in this part of the coast) but fortunately there were always clean bays within a very short walk so it was never an issue for us. Activities - there’s several things every day but not nearly as much as we thought; mostly early morning and in the late afternoon. Mostly yoga and painting classes… on the beach there’s only SUPs and no kayaks. Nights are without anything worthy of mention but the next door hotel has shows. There’s also a gym and the hotel nextdoor offers more activities like tennis/pickleball. A final word about the spa. Seemed like there’s a lot of cool experiences but sadly the prices are not so cool. I appreciate a good massage and have paid for good massages all over the world but have never seen a spa charge US$415 for a 90 minute deep-tissue massage. That just seemed so beyond reasonable that sadly i skipped it. Bottom line - this place really forces you to relax and enjoy the beauty of the resort and the top quality food and the warm staff. On the flip side there’s limited things to do, day or night, and the food becomes repetitive after a while as the menus don’t change. But for us the pluses heavily outweighed any minuses. We will be back.

    This place is magical!!!!

We are still reeling from our amazing 10 days at Palmaia. From the moment we arrived we instantly felt the overwhelming sense of calm, and received the most incredible service from the staff. We checked in and out with warm and gracious staff that made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions. Nahui was a brilliant initial tour guide and driver, and got us settled in beautifully. We were always excited to run into him and Oscar when we needed transportation within the resort, and both were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful during our stay. Our nomadic guides, Kasandra and Andres, were always available with their beautiful smiling faces, and kept us well informed with constant communication (and cute pics and emojis) and very well taken care of. Anything we needed from shifting dinner reservations, to change for tips, to rides and ice when I injured my knee, they made sure we got it promptly. They really made us feel like we are now a part of the Palmaia family. We look forward to being with them again when we return to Palmaia! The service we experienced was top notch throughout. Andres took excellent care of us nearly everyday at Su Casa for breakfast and lunch, he learned us and anticipated our needs. Abel was also great, and Luis, who we didn’t have the pleasure of meeting until our last day, was amazing! Luis made recommendations we hadn’t tried and made us very happy. We can’t wait to work with him when we return. Blas was fantastic, and we were always excited to see him at dinner time, or when he was at breakfast or lunch at Su Casa. He learned us and anticipated our needs, telling us once that it didn’t feel like work, but that it was as if we were friends visiting his home, and it really felt that way! We look forward to seeing him again soon Wendy and Fernanda always welcomed us with a smile and an excitedly warm greeting. They took great care of us and we can’t wait to see them again. Enrique and Saul took amazing care of us on the beach each day, making sure that we had everything we needed, and that we were set up in our fave sunning spot. Looking forward to spending more time on the beach with these two!!! We simply CANNOT WAIT to get back to Palmaia. The food, the vibe, the beautiful people who work there, everything is just excellent. We were blown away. If we could rate it beyond 5 stars, we would! ALL the stars. We feel so lucky to have found our new home away from home. Thank you, PALMAIA!!

Incredible 5* holiday with amazing service, vegan food and wildlife!

We have just returned after a week at Palmaïa - The House of AïA in Playa del Carmen, Mexico 🇲🇽 and I thought I’d write a review. We booked with TUI and whilst it is a 5* / on the pricier side we absolutely loved it and felt it was worth it as it included our flights and hotel stay (we found it cheaper booking the package holiday rather than paying for flights and hotel separately but we did go in peak season) ✈️ It is an all inclusive, wellness resort with all menus plant based. You can add on dairy or meat if you wish but it meant everything was vegan straight away which was amazing for us as a vegan couple. We spoke to other guests there who weren’t vegan and they loved all the food too! The food was incredible, the fluffiest pancakes for breakfast, tomato tartar at the Mediterranean restaurant, vegan sushi, scrambled tofu, matcha waffles and of course the seitan burritos at the taco truck. 🌮 They have incredible cocktail menus (standard without alcohol but you can add alcohol as well if you wish.) Room service is completely free with a full menu, the Palmaia burger was insane! The resort itself was beautiful, a great balance between sea and jungle. The service was excellent, your usual 5* anything is possible service which was fab and you get your own “nomadic guide” concierge who you can WhatsApp day and night for anything. Special shout outs to Wendy at Su Casa, Dany at the taco truck, Abraham on the beach and Alexander at Ume restaurant ⭐️ all the staff we encountered were friendly and we loved how they always checked for dietary requirements or allergies too! There are so many activities on each day (everything free of charge apart from the spa or an external excursion). We did morning yoga, sound baths, watercolour painting class, bread making class (called fermentation class), cacao ceremony, all amazing! The highlight of staying here was the nature. We saw spider monkeys 🐒 whilst walking to dinner, a grass snake 🐍 , coatis, agoutis, brown pelicans diving into the water, vultures, mockingbirds etc to name a few! Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a 5* all inclusive holiday surrounded by beautiful beaches and the jungle 🌴 We have been lucky to travel around the world staying in stunning resorts but this place for us was the best in our opinion! We can’t wait to go back 💕
