We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Papagayo Beach Resort! The service was very, very good, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Everything was handled with great care, making us feel truly welcomed and comfortable. Kimberly, Loechnella and Sheneylis did a great job. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend Papagayo Beach Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with excellent service. Sep 21, 2026The kids were happy of course, we had fun as a family. We rested well, and that's important. But room needs re-touching
Location & Atmosphere: Very quiet, and peaceful: 5 star Rooms: Furnitures,Doors needs re-touching, new stuff. It don't have to be sphisticated; just taken care of. The TV is also super small. The wood in my room on the upper right side had a funny smell. Don't know if maybe it's the age of the wood or something else. 2 star. The 2 stars is completely for the bed and the outside chair, the bed was good, and the single chair as well. Amenities: Pool was not functioning. The one at Papagayo beach bar also doesn't flow very good. Even though it is sea water but to me it needs flow... some small small stuff was floating on the water and it gave me the "bleh" feeling. 2 star. Breakfast: Very delicious. Breakfast at the Papagayo beach restaurant was very delicious. If breakfast is good, the day goes good. And there is options in the area. 5 Star Price: For the price it could be better. 3 stars In total: Average 3.5 stars

Wonderful resort in Curacao
Absolutely lovely resort you can have the nightlife at the beach bars and restaurants or the tranquility of the resort villas nestled in tropical gardens Would recommend the hotel side if you want a fully air conditioned experience I stayed in the villas which were spacious comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen and drinks in the fridge It does get hot in the during the afternoon as the only rooms with air conditioning are the bedrooms but there are sliders that completely open up 2 walls to the outdoor space and there is always a good breeze blowing There is a huge wraparound porch with comfortable seating and big outdoor dining table There are lots of beautiful colorful songbirds including parrots and lots of cool iguanas ( I love them…. but they dont come close or bother you ) Lots of restaurants to choose from within a 10 minute walk… great italian at Mondi at sonesta resort next door and Zest has great upscale menu Good little grocery store near resort Bring a converter if you are from US however if you forget can buy one at store Its about 30 min drive from airport and 15 mins from town Staff are all very friendly and helpful

Aug 22, 2026Amazing resort (some little cosmetic maintenance)
Our stay at Papagayo Beach Resort was simply wonderful. The location, the check in and the service was great. Our villa was clean and the daily cleaning was outstanding. Some things could have some maintenance but that where more cosmetic things than flaws. The swimming pool is having a great refining just when we left and that was needed. We stayed at Villa 172 and the location just a few steps away from the swimming pool is really a pro. But we did not come for swimming pools, hahaha. The walk to Jan Thiel beach is 5 a 10 minutes, but the walk seems more then a hike because of the slope you need to climb in the summer heat. To see the island you need a car and because of the roads that are sometimes really rocky I advice renting a jeep or something in the same category. We rented a car directly from Move it Car Rental in advance from the Netherlands and I highly recommend them. Great service and they drop of the car at the villa and pick it up there also (you can also let it drop off at Hato airport). The shopping mall at Jan Thiel is great for quick needed things but there a few really big shoppingmalls just in the neighborhood that I recommend to buy your weekly things (Mangusa). Curaçao is amazing and the people also. The vibe, the beaches and the summer breeze really gets you in a relaxed mood. All is good and just enjoy.

Jul 26, 2026Papagayo beach resort did not meet up expectations
We booked a package tour through TUI that included a stay in a two-bedroom villa at the Papagayo Resort. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed by more than 24 hours, so we didn’t arrive at the resort until the following evening. I had called the day before to let them know we’d be arriving a day later. Upon arrival, I even spoke to the same person at the front desk who told me he had answered my call the day before. To our great surprise, they had assumed we weren’t coming anymore. As a result, there was no welcome package, no food, and no drinks after a two-day journey. Tui hadn’t notified them, but I had personally informed them. The villa is okay but has clearly seen better days. The amenities are really minimal for cooking and living in the villa. Room service only changes the towels and takes out the trash during your stay. The resort’s front desk isn’t much to speak of, but the staff are friendly. A lot of people from outside the resort come to party there on the weekends, which unfortunately brought along a few undesirable individuals. Security clearly saw what was going on but did nothing about it. Personally, even though I had a fantastic trip with my family, I wouldn’t choose the Papagayo Resort again. Upon check-out, the credit card deposit was not released by the front desk. Now, after three weeks, the funds are still on hold, awaiting automatic release by the credit card company after 31 days. I contacted the resort but unfortunatly never received any reply.
