  Vacation with mon

  I gave the resort 4 stars because, at the beginning of my stay, there was a cardiology congress going on, and the restaurants and bars were extremely busy. It honestly felt like the staff were more focused on the conference guests, and sometimes those of us who were there on vacation were overlooked. But what really changed the experience for me was the entertainment team! Victor and Junior were amazing and made my stay so much more fun. Their energy and personality really made a difference and helped me enjoy the trip so much more. A big thank you to Maria, Juan from Bonao, and Santos from Concierge as well. They were all so helpful and made everything easier during my stay. Overall, I had a really good time. The beginning was a little frustrating, but the amazing entertainment team and the people who went out of their way to help definitely made up for it

  terrible service and experience

  I booked this resort through Expedia and had one of the worst all inclusive experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, basic service was a struggle. We were assigned a concierge who assured us he would bring milk for our 1 year old — something simple and essential. He forgot twice, even after reminders, and I eventually had to call reception myself. The milk didn’t arrive until 9:40 PM, more than six hours after the initial request. Our two bedroom suite was also unacceptable. The main bedroom was extremely humid, and the bedding, pillows, and even the rugs were damp. Turning on the AC only made the room smell musty. After waiting nearly 1.5 hours for someone to check the AC, the technician left without explanation. The resort eventually changed the sheets, cleaned the room, and added a dehumidifier, but the room never felt normal. I had to empty the dehumidifier myself every single day — no staff ever handled it — which clearly showed the AC was not functioning properly. Communication was equally poor. After submitting an early complaint, the property manager promised improved service and assigned a second concierge. They said they would create a WhatsApp group chat to streamline communication, but that never happened. Instead, I had to message two concierges separately. The second concierge repeatedly asked me to write her a positive review, even pulling me aside during the day to talk about a survey — completely inappropriate. We were also celebrating my in laws’ birthdays, and the staff offered to arrange a cake and a small celebration during dinner. We provided names and colors and were assured it was confirmed. When the night came, there was no cake, no acknowledgment, nothing. A special moment was ruined. Service throughout the resort was consistently poor: • Flies all over the buffet • Constantly having to ask for water, coffee, and drinks • No poolside service • Lifeguard disengaged and staring at the bar all day • Twice, my 1 year old’s “well done” hamburger arrived bloody • At the Asian restaurant, our waiter never refilled water, never offered another drink, and still got our order wrong even when we pointed directly at the menu While staff were friendly on the surface, execution was terrible across the board. This resort did not meet the standards advertised, and the issues we experienced — especially with room conditions and food safety — were unacceptable. I am requesting a refund for this stay.

  Give tips on every step you take or don't go

  As we stayed in Paradisus adults only in Cancun and LOVED the experience, we just booked the trip to this same Paradisus chain in Punta Cana without further thinking expecting to have the same kind of experience. We stayed in Paradisus Palma Real in June and we were full of expectations for this trip because it was the first one as a family with our new baby. The trip started awesome with the room upgrade that I got from Melia rewards as it was recently my birthday, they did as they promised and the room upgrade was great with ocean view and a huge balcony. They also assigned us a lovely concierge (Ross) that made all our restaurant reservations and was always very helpful and is for sure an amazing woman! Our room had a terrible problem with the bath tub that every time was used licked water to the entire floor - and we had to use it every day to bath the baby. We had to cover the entire floor with pool towels because it was a high amount of water washing the entire bedroom floor. Maintenance went several times but haven't fixed the problem. But this was not what bothered us, it was a 100% the fact that mostly every employee in this resort expects tips for everything including mainly the restaurants that are supposed to be "all inclusive". Expectation is one thing and understandable, but when they look at you with bad faces when you are not tipping or treat you badly because of it, it completely ruins your trip and your experience! We stayed for an entire week and by the 4th day, we withdraw some money at the ATM to tip, paying a lot of taxes to convert, etc but surprise... they dislike their money and value only dollars! It was quite shocking to us because we are from Brazil and can't tip like an American and were not carrying a currency that is not ours - so if you come here, come with Dollars to feel welcome, now you know ;) The managers of the restaurants also ask you to review the restaurant you ate in Tripadvisor and also in Google and ask to mention the manager of it and the person responsible for your table and before you leave they ask you to show them to see if you did... so awkward, in some restaurants they also have a QR code to link you directly to the page to review make your life easier haha By the last days we were feeling so discomfortable with the tipping demand that we decided to dinner at the buffet - and another bad surprise was that they were remodeling the restaurant where the buffet is and transfer the dinners to another small restaurant that didn't have the same buffet presentation and variety of food. A very small place with just a few options in chafing dishes, so lame. We were also convinced to attend a meeting where they try to sell in all the ways a membership called The Circle and doesn't matter if you say no, they try to pretty much make a brain wash to convince you to buy it. There's a very rude woman that is the manager that tries the last word before you be able to finally leave. Its funny to see how she is all smiles in the beginning and how she ends like "you are dumb to not get this amaaaazing opportunity" and stare at you with that judging face... we didn't pay cheap for this resort and we were full of expectations to celebrate a nice moment of our life. We for sure had great moments and found our way to make the best of this trip, the resort is beautiful, the food is great and we met some other awesome employees despite the ones with angry faces by not being tipped, but the bad points will be considered to not chose Paradisus anymore for our next big travel but a place where we will feel really welcome.

  Nice resort but room issues

  our first day was a disapointment because our air conditioner was not working and our safe did not work. we were told we could not leave the room and waited for hours for maintinace to repair. Waited the remainder of the day for that to be done. The staff by the pool was not at all attentive, they all stood at thier stations out of the sun and seemed to argure who was supposed to serve us, we got tired of that and just got up from the pool and the beach to get drinks ourselves.

  Good hotel

  Hope they will keep their quality. The concierge Eduardo very good guy, he knows his job. We liked this hotel.
