Well where to start..... The con's......... On our first day not sure what to expect wen headed down the beach for a walk, we took a couple of sun beds and had a brief conversation which included them staff member suggesting we could tip him. I didnt like this as he hadnt provided us with any kind of service at all. After while we left and went to the reception as it had started to rain am little. We then met a chap from concierge he said we could fee the fish he got the kids some fish food and then again said we could 'give him a little tip' and telling us about was 'circle' which we said we wouldn't be interested in. This really put us off the resort, I do tip and I also take gifts for staffs children. Now the Pro's..... Our second day we went the Aqua zone (we went everyday from here on in) We met the most fantastic staff called Grisey & Rachel, they couldn't do enough for us and were absolutely delightful along with the chef we think he was called Sergio they reassured our faith in the resort and staff. The aqua zone was kept beautiful clean and towels were plentifully all the time. Our second week we met Laura & Gaby again at the aqua zone they were both as fantastic as the ladies from the first week. Now 2 other very important people we met during our stay firstly our room lady Ester oh my goodness what a lovely lady,mthe kids left her treats we got chatting and she hd 3 children so we left gifts or them she was absolutely wonderful. My final shout out is for Omar from concierge every single day he checked on us and remembered them kids names and what they liked etc, he was amazing on the day wen left he came to give us a hug and say goodbye he told us next year he would be moving to the sister resort and we are seriously considering booking because of him. So the resort is absolutely beautiful, very well maintained by all staff the pools are lovely and wet sawn them being cleaned every day. We had a little rain and sing was put out to warn guests the floor would be slippy it sure was. The restaurants were good we went to each one of the family places once during our stay, the kids preferred the buffet where they could choose the food they loved Angel the waiter who also engaged with them to be best all the staff were good in here. Flora did provide excellent entertainment whilst having dinner when a very cheeky raccoon jumped our little boys chair and pinched his fishmongers, obviously this caused distress not because he was scared but the racoon pinched his tea. Within minutes a new meal had been provided and we were all laughing. We had such a good time here, the coffee shop had beautiful coffee and the ice cream shop well what can we say we all love ice cream. Melia & Paradisus management our holiday was made by the staff around us and the animals from an initial rubbish first day to a holiday we are all sad we had to leave behind they staff we mentioned are really a credit to the brand and hotel please pass on our sincere thanks. to them. Ester, Omar, Grisey, Rachel, Laura, Gaby, Angel Muchas gracias por hacer que nuestra estancia sea tan agradable, los niños no han dejado de pedir reservar de nuevo y están muy tristes ahora que estamos en casa y eso es gracias a ti.

I toured Paradisus with a friend as a potential venue for her son's wedding. It's a nice property with several good options for the ceremony and reception. While none of the rooms have an ocean view (there's a mangrove preserve between the property and the beach), the rooms looked nice. They do have beach access however. Many of the staff welcomed us when we arrived, which created a very good first impression. The property is well maintained and there are 2 separate sides, one is adults only and the other is for families.

David @ Capella gave us the most generous & seamless service! Our experience and food was fantastic! Paradisus Playa Del Carmen has been the most perfect get away for my husband & I! From the drinks to the food & kind hospitality-we will definitely be booking a trip back as soon as possible!

Couples retreat
This is the third time we’re staying at this resort because it’s just amazing. The location is ideal for calm and clean waters, multiple pools, many delicious restaurants, and super friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is very relaxing and quiet! Our rooms have always been very clean and well kept. We have all the amenities we could need for a week long stay, and the staff make sure we never run out of anything. The value is also great for what you’re getting. Now for a few shout outs: big thank you to Alysia from front desk who was so quick and helpful in our check in and check out experience; Hadar restaurant was visited multiple times due to its friendly staff, like Shaira, Julio, Blanca, Ernesto and Carlos; and all the men and women who would help us stay fed and hydrated at the pools and the beach. We will most definitely be coming back, with more family members.
