    Huatulco all inclusive

My first impression was less than favourable. There were stairs going to our room, up 2 full flights. The hotel was away from the beach, but with a beachfront facility that had a pool, restaurant, and activity center with regular shuttle service to and from the main hotel. However, I grew to like it more with each day. As we got to see everything, the hotel won me over. My opinion changed 100% for the better. The rooftop pool at level 7 was excellent, with bar service and snacks available. The view was amazing. It was more quiet and laid back. The beach had shaded lounge chairs with more at poolside at the beachfront pool. The ocean at the beach had calm water for swimming and snorkeling. There were activities for everyone from kids to seniors. There was a tennis court and gym. The staff are excellent. Just a few names, with so many others who were also great: Jose served at the beachfront and beachside pool. Wilbur at the buffet. Antonio, Gadie, Aurora, Karima, Miriam, Geraldo were at Andiamo and the Mexican restaurant. Noe and Adrian at the lobby bar. Estevan from Royal Vacations. There were so many others as well. The holiday was excellent. We would definitely return to this hotel, and recommend it to others- unless you have mobility issues. With the stairs and the need to climb in and out of the shuttle, this site may not work for some people.

Beautiful, laid back all inclusive with chill vibe

We absolutely loved this hotel, with units built mountainside and connected with a cobblestone trail for guest transport from top to bottom. The resort is beautifully landscaped with tropicals and lush greenery. Smaller but gorgeous pools. Two a la carte and one buffet restaurant are available with amazing food..Italian and authentic Mexican. The service, cleaning, bar and transport staff are awesome and provide great service with a smile. From the lobby, the beach is a 5 minute walk on a path next to a golf course and the Barcelo tennis courts, nice and shady. The beach is soft and clean and long, perfect for swimming and walking. Brush up on your conversational Spanish, as that is the primary language with very little English spoken, although great effort to communicate is made. One area in need of improvement is the reception/check-in staff and processes. For non -Spanish speakers, this is rushed, incomplete and confusing. Buried in the dismissive check-in are instructions about your room key, which is a plastic chip on a cloth bracelet with a cinch bead. You are told "don't lose it" as there is a fee for replacement; but you are NOT told, the fee ($1750 MXN) is for the return of the serial number on the cloth band, not the room chip. I lost mine day before departure, and thought I didn't need a replacement as we were checking out next day. Wrong, and paid 1750 pesos, non- negotiable. We found reception staff unhelpful, not bothering to advise there was an ATM on-site when we asked where we could get cash. Bring all your pesos in smalls with you as it is difficult to find any at the hotel. Tips are not expected but the staff were very pleased when their great service was rewarded! Park Royal was perfectly situated, a short cab ride to shopping and local eats in nearby Crucecita where you can find all kinds of tourist treasures. All in all, great experience! We will definitely return...don't judge your stay by the lack of welcome you may receive at reception. We hope it improves with this review.

    Underrated resort

This is an older resort with lost of different levels and stairs, however there are shuttles runnning constantly for those that don’t want to walk or have mobility issues. It is exceptionally well maintained and very clean. The main buffet is excellent and runs all day long. Wifi is good and rooms are very spacious and have all the essentials you would expect. The optional restaurants are acceptable although not top end and there are only 2 of them on the resort and they are not open every day and only for limited hours. All in all the experience is a great value for the money at this resort far surpassing my expectations.

Although we’ve travelled a lot, out of all the Mexican places ever been to, park royal takes the last spot!

The hotel is uniquely situated on a hill, hard to climb if one doesn’t have good knees! The rooms are spacious, quiet, tv dated , the shower has good pressure, however there are tiny ants everywhere on the countertops! The service is hit and miss, none of the coffee machines are working, the Italian place had one , however the staff is rude and asking for an espresso was an imposition, ended up with regular coffee in a plastic flimsy beer cup! At the buffet we’re told the red wine isn’t available, asked a different server and got some in the end! Don’t expect the bars to have a good selection, run out of negroni, Campari, even tequila a few days ago! The only positive is the Mexican buffet, when is open one can get a decent meal!

    Definitely try this place!

Park Royal Beach Huatulco is outstanding. The staff are all incredibly attentive, helpful, and kind. We will come back some day. Highly recommend. Soledad at the lobby bar served up excellent drinks and even taught me a little Spanish! Overall a great experience.
