Feb 11, 2026Find another Resort in Costa Rica -
We have travelled to numerous all inclusives throughout the Caribbean and have been to the Riu in Costa Rica as well. Planet Hollywood pales in comparison to the Riu with not only the quality of the rooms and hotel itself, but especially with the reservations for restaurants other than the buffet. When we arrived at Planet Hollywood there were no reservations available for the entire week we would be staying, and no one at the resort was willing to help with this. One evening we walked up to each restaurant and each one told us to come back at a certain time and if there had been a cancellation we would be seated. The time they indicated would be past the time the buffet would be open so we didn't take a chance that we wouldn't get a meal and just ate at the buffet. We did wind up getting in to two of the restaurants and the only one worthwhile was the steakhouse, and even that was just average. Many other patrons were complaining of these same issues. The rooms and hallway to our rooms was not cleaned well either, there was actually a very sharp syringe in the hallway to our room for two days before someone removed it. If this resort changed their restaurant reservation policies and cleaned better, it might be more worthwhile.

William was our server for our Star Class breakfast on 2/11/2026 at the Blue Star. He was amazing. The best of the best! Very attentive and polite. A great asset to Planet Hollywood.

Pura Vida!
Costa Rica is a beautiful place. Planet Hollywood compliments that 10x. The resort. The food. THE STAFF!! I can’t say enough about the staff, everyone was so nice. We had our 5 year old son with us and everyone made it a point to make him acknowledged. Especially Gasper, this gentleman went out of his way each and every time he seen us to make sure we were enjoying our stay. From conversation to concierge, the best! I wouldn’t hesitate going again. We may see you again Gasper. Gracias amigo. Gracias Planet Hollywood. Pura Vida Costa Rica!

Excellent stay!
We had such a great time at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica! The staff were amazing! So incredibly friendly and accommodating. Javier at the Fuel coffee shop made the best cappuccinos! Jose at Tex Mex had the best smile and service we could ask for. Antonio on the entertainment staff was so fun! An incredible week. We met some pretty amazing people staying here too that made it all the better!

Excellent service all around.
The service was excellent at SO CAL both for breakfast and dinner. The buffet was well stocked and had variety. The themed dinner was interesting . A special mention to our efficient and caring breakfast servers Paula, Jimmy and Elmer. Always pleasant and helpful. Their good people skills showed when they knew your preferences ( how you take your coffee and juice preference) on day 2.
