  All-around winner!

  Overall, we enjoyed our time at PYP. Check in was painless and very friendly, even at the late hour we came in. We have food allergies in our group and the kitchen was very accommodating. The staff at the buffet (special thanks to Fernanda, Armando, A. Rosemberg and Karen the hostess for being especially fantastic!) and the restaurants were always available to help and explain the menu and choices. The entertainment in the theater was very good and very professional. We went most nights. The swim up bar pool was boisterous, the entertainment there wasn't our cup-of-tea but people looked like they were enjoying themselves. The pool by the beach was much more calm but the smell of sarghassum was strong at this time of year. The hotel is quite large but not as big as the neighbouring Sunset which you have full access to and has a trolley that runs all day. We used the sport park quite a bit. Archery, shooting, pool, paddle boards and exercise classes were all included and were very well organized. There is also tennis, pickle ball and basketball courts which we also used. The gym was also well appointed. The only downside I would say is there wasn't an actual disco but there was a place to dance from 11 until 1 which we only went to once on the day there was karaoke. The music was overly loud and wasn't very appealing. All in all, if you like good entertainment and good food, with excellent service this is a good hotel.

  Amazing experience at Yucatán Platinum Princess

  We were here for 1 week, and this was our 6th visit. Everyone here is so welcoming, the rooms are spacious, cool and the beds are very comfortable. The staff in every restaurant was amazing, as was the food. We got 2 massages this week, and our masseuses Evelyn, Virginia, Maria, and Adelaide were all amazing. The manager of the spa, Bruno, even gave us a free half hour massage!! Of particular note were Bryan THE BEST WAITER in the buffet for breakfast and lunch, Karen and Berenice (amazing hostesses at the restaurants), Martin of the entertainment staff, and the dancers of the “Party People Show”. The pool was amazing, with drinks that never stopped flowing, whether at the swim up bar or at the pool by our room. (We had a swim up room). This vacation spot is an amazing value.

  Bryan is the best

  We stayed for about a week and had a great time. Great scenery with the jungle and beach, didn't feel like a city style resort. Felt much more natural. The buffet yucutan was surprisingly really good. Honestly better than any of the restaurants. Room was very clean, no bugs at all. Wildlife was adorable and friendly around humans. Staff were all very welcoming and polite. Bryan specifically, who is a waiter at the buffet yucutan, was by far the best waiter ive ever seen in my entire life. He was always in a great mood, cracking jokes, would recognize us as soon as we walked in the door and would say hi. Always on top of our table checking if we needed anything. I genuinely wish I could bring Bryan back home with me and hire him at my resteraunt. If the owner/manager is reading this - take good care of Bryan and make sure you dont lose him. We met many people during our trip and all of them were extremely polite and overall fantastic, but Bryan remains our #1 favorite person we met the whole time. He was always working breakfast, and we would make sure to specifically ask to be in his section, and he stayed our day off with positivity and joy. Absolute gem of a human. I wasn't even prompted to leave a review, Bryan was just so awesome that I asked where to leave a review for him. Thanks for making our trip that much more enjoyable Bryan!!

  Wonderful honeymoon

  We have had a wonderful, fun, and romantic honeymoon here this last week and have loved every second of it. From the many swimming pools, the fun activities, the nice room, and the incredible service from staff. At the buffet Yucutan we were served multiple times by Bryan and sat by the hostess Karen almost every day. Their kindness did not go unnoticed, especially Bryan going above and beyond for us and always being in such a good mood every day! Thank you for all your hospitality this week Bryan and Karen, but also thank you Princess for being the perfect destination for our honeymoon <3

  Good but could be better

  The location was ok. Nothing much around but just wanted a relaxing holiday. The atmosphere was poor when we checked in, it was quite a cold greeting from the receptionist. The porter took us to the building and told us just to go to the lift and following directions for the room. We have always been taken to our room and someone would bring the cases. Not very welcoming at all. The room was lovely. Couple of issues. Lack of drawers and no hooks for hanging wet towels. We had to lay them on the bath which ment they were always damp. Maybe something that could be addressed. The shaving/make up mirror was very high so didn’t help me with putting in my contacts or being able to see while getting ready. The balcony was lovely and big with the whirlpool bath. The furniture was more style over comfort. The table was a strange shape in the centre which ment you couldn’t put anything on it safely. The balcony had no cover which ment when it rained all the clothing we had out to dry just got wet. We also like to sit out and watch the storms but had no shelter so couldn’t. The room was very clean as was the whole resort. The cleaning staff do an amazing job. We spent a lot of time at building 5 pools as they were quieter with nice music. The main pool had a very 18-30 party vibe. Great if that’s what you want. The pool bar staff were great. Attentive and friendly, especially Deysi. The beach bar only opened at the end of our holiday. I understand that the beach wasn’t great but if the beds had been better and we could get food and drink, we still would have gone there being beach lovers. The main buffet was nice but the choice of being able to sit where you want and also being told we couldn’t sit in booths for breakfast was very restricting and when you have paid for your holiday, you don’t expect to be told where you can and can’t sit. The food was good although a small selection and very much the same daily. The waiters were nice and friendly. Can’t remember names as we kept being moved around and would have preferred to strike up friendships with the ones we wanted. The restaurants were great especially the Japanese and Rodeo. Karem was a lovely waitress and very attentive to everyone. The bars however lacked any atmosphere. To have 4 bars with hardly anyone in them was very off putting. The lobby bar was very clinical with uncomfortable seating. We would have liked to sit in there on an evening but felt like we were imposing. The hotel we feel was very much geared to Spanish speaking holidaymakers. Overall the holiday was good but for the money, more than we have paid for better resorts, we would probably not return, sorry.
