Best vacation
Trip of a lifetime, customer service was over the top. The party life was amazing. I Was here by myself. The hype behind this resort will not let you down. The bar hopping, after life and the planning the trips was all taken care off. The activities were amazing the beach volleyball, the pool, hot tub and the best part the putting green. I want to give a big shout out to the bartenders. Not water down drinks. If ur looking for a great time and great activities go see Rocio! She will take care of you!!

Stuff are very nice, but the hotel extremely poor.
Pictures of the hotel are very deceiving.Probably taken 30 years ago.No insulation in the walls Restaurant extremely poor stuff okay Booked in for 7 days Left after 1 day. A very disappointing place. No refunds. I spent $2000 for 1 night stay That included my flight. Live and learn.

Poor Experience
Sadly the resort once quaint and charming is now tired and old. The rooms desperately need updating, the pool needs retiling, the gym is non functional, wi-fi is sketchy and the FOOD is HORRIBLE. Despite years of staying here we will not return. We will miss the staff who were incredible and as the years progressed became the reason we returned.

It’s a hard pass for us.
Just returned from a 9 day stay at the Posada Real. While the resort has some redeeming qualities, I wouldn’t rate it more than a 3 star. The beach is beautiful and relatively quiet (ambient noise from neighbouring resort was annoying); we had no trouble finding spots to park ourselves for the day. The rooms are clean, bathrooms upgraded and the beds were very comfortable. Rooms were cleaned daily and bedding changed every 3 days. The pillows however were terrible. And the walls are thin; didn’t like hearing the neighbours snoring or alarm clocks going off. The food was the most disappointing. Options were limited. We tired of it very quickly and after a few days of upset stomachs, ended up eating out. Fantastic food scene in San Jose! The resort doesn’t allow customers to take food or drink from the bars or restaurant to their rooms. Pity as the balconies off the rooms are spacious and a nice place to sit and have a morning coffee or enjoy a drink. Coffee (not great) is available in the room, no kettle, and paper cups only. The lobby is dated and the smell of sewage is prevalent as soon as you walk in and from the adjoining restaurant. Wifi is spotty. Staff were very pleasant. For a budget holiday, it’s an ok place, you get what you pay for. We won’t be going back.

Stay in ANY other hotel
In all of my years of traveling I’ve never seen anything like this hotel. It’s like an old Howard Johnson motel from the 60s and is long overdue for a renovation. Case in point, after checking in we were told they didn’t have running water. Yes, you read that right. No water. No showers, toilets, or food. They said it’d be fixed in 20 minutes but hours went by and every time we asked they said “20 minutes.” People were so nonchalant about it too, like it was a normal occurrence. No sense of urgency. No apologies. Just “20 minutes” every time we asked if it was fixed. After spending 15 hours traveling to get there, finding an old hotel with no ability to shower, etc was just too much. The place was grimy and smelled awful. (Hours of people using the bathrooms but not flushing. Awesome, huh?) They did get the water fixed after we’d been there about 7 hours and told us they’d upgrade our room but we were done. We checked out and moved to a hotel a few doors down. Funny thing was that the new hotel was only slightly more expensive. Go figure. Do yourself a favor if you’ve decided to stay in Cabo Sam José. Pick another hotel.
