Disappointed!
Not recommended, 3* at most! I really wanted to love this place! Unfortunately I could not. Will not be back. We stayed here for a week. Pros: - Chahue is a beautiful beach, although not really swimmable unless you are a very strong swimmer - location is great - pools are nice - we ate at Otto and Formo Pizza, and Uno all decent meals! The coffee shop also has good pastries and coffee, but it takes forever to get - SHOUTOUT to the lads delivering drinks around the pool, they were great, especially Daniel (who remembered our room # and drinks right away!) and Hector, also very good! - the ground and landscape kept very nice CONS: - wearing a wristband - but you don’t HAVE to wear it. 😜 -right away in the room - no tissues (Kleenex) might be a México thing?, no face cloth, - we were there for 7 days, had NO hot water the entire time, called ,ore than once to have maintenance look, once they came, did nothing for the shower, the second time, they did not even show up, we finally left after more than an hr waiting They really didn’t seem to care, good lip service, no follow through! - can only charge restaurant bills to your room. must pay for drinks, cash or card before leaving pool area - food and drink cost more than most in the area

Completely unacceptable – total management failure
This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had – and certainly the worst for a hotel that claims to be five-star. We stayed here just before New Year’s Eve with a large group (half Mexican, half European guests). What happened was not a minor inconvenience, but a complete failure of basic hotel operations and management responsibility. Late at night, one of our group returned to their room only to find that the door was completely blocked and could not be opened. All personal belongings were inside. The hotel staff admitted they could not properly fix the issue at that moment. Technical problems can happen — what followed, however, was absolutely unacceptable. Instead of immediately offering an alternative room, the hotel chose to attempt to force the door open during the night. This was done loudly and without any consideration for other guests, waking up not only the entire floor, but also guests on the floors above and below. The disturbance was massive and unnecessary, especially for a hotel that presents itself as luxury accommodation. Despite the severity of the situation: • No immediate replacement room was offered • Guests were left waiting for hours under extreme stress • There was no manager on duty, no supervision, and no authority to make decisions • Front desk staff appeared untrained and powerless Eventually, only after significant disruption and frustration, a temporary solution was provided. Guests were then informed that they would need to wake up early so that someone might be able to properly open the original room later. After a night of chaos and broken sleep, this was beyond unreasonable. What is most shocking is that not a single member of hotel management ever appeared to take responsibility. There was: • No real apology • No compensation • No follow-up • No accountability In a genuine five-star hotel, management would be present, proactive, and guest-oriented. Here, there was zero leadership, zero ownership of the problem, and zero concern for guest experience. Mistakes happen. Locks fail. Systems break. What defines a luxury hotel is how problems are handled. This hotel failed completely. If you value professionalism, safety, and respectful treatment of guests, do not stay here. Oaxaca offers many wonderful hotels — this is not one of them. This experience seriously damaged our stay, and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone expecting even basic service standards, let alone five-star quality.

Terrible experience and absolute lack of management
Terrible experience and a complete lack of management support in resolving any of the countless issues we encountered. The manager was reportedly never on site during our four-day stay at this supposedly five-star hotel. We were a group of 30 people, and every single one of us faced a barrage of problems throughout our visit. It was highly disappointing and poorly handled from start to finish. We even witnessed other guests complaining about their own issues, only to be met with the same lack of response.

First time in Santa Cruz.
Great place and location. Pool area very clean, staff very friendly. Rooms are recently renovated and kept very clean. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Parking easy and safe outside hotel parking area. Only complaint would be no room fridge.
