    Okay, but at a price

I waffled between a 3 and a 4. Location gave it the push to 4. There was nothing terribly wrong but for what they charge, you want more than "not terribly wrong". It's barely a resort - has a pool (with a very nice attendant), a beach, a gift shop, and a pricy restaurant. They charge a resort fee and a parking fee (very nice parking attendant/bellboy) - adds about $100 more than list price daily. But it's really a dressed up old motel. One elevator did not work the the entire time we were there. There are some clever lawn statues - men playing poker, man sleeping in chair. The saving grace is that it is right at the southern end of Key West and very walkable to Key West attractions. There is a nicer sister property nearby that we did not visit until our last full day.

Waste of money and treated very poorly as a Diamond but using the Hilton free night certificate

Too many poor things to write here. Arrived at 3 pm. Was told no rooms available. Huge 5 level resort and a Hilton Diamond and one hour before check in, not one room available. “We will text you”. Well I received a text so went to the desk, and they made a mistake. So we wait longer. 4:15, finally a text with a room in the back of the hotel. $1,000 a night but this service? Pool is sub par, only 1 of the several elevators actually working, the rooms were no better than the Hampton inn I stayed at the night before and this is a poor motel style makeover. $18 breakfast credit gets you a “continental breakfast” which is a 0.50 pastry and a coffee that they somehow value at $18? $50 to park when it is free on the street less than one block away. If you do not tip the cabana guy for asking him for a dry towel, he looks at you like you don’t deserve his attention. In an effort not to be completely negative, the beach was nice and the happy hour was competitive as well. But, I would stay at their sister property down the road 1000 times before I stayed here again and DO NOT use your Hilton free night certificate here as it was clear on check in and out that it was not appreciated here with a comment that said “why only 1 night” with a very sarcastic tone, upon check out, to which I bit my tongue hard and replied… oh just heading back up the keys.. when I was really thinking.. because 1 night is all I can stand here. I could go on.. but you get the point.

All employees were helpful, especially Molly

Molly was the best help ever. She is a security guard at the hotel and was genuinely concerned about our experience

Poor customer care by the hotel staff.

So I am a Hilton Diamond Member and decided to use my annual free night at The Reach in Key West. I knew we would be arriving in Key West early, so I contacted the Hotel via messaging in the Hilton App and asked about potentially checking in early. I got a very cold response from the hotel staff and they said we cannot confirm anything until we are there. So, I get to the hotel around 1pm and of course they don’t anything available early and then they also inform me that they don’t have any type of room upgrade either. Disappointing! So as I am sitting there with my wife waiting for them to get our room ready, I look into that hotel’s availability and find a number of rooms that could have been an upgrade for us. Started to call Hilton Diamond Customer Care, but about 3pm they said our room was ready. We proceeded to the room to discover that it has two beds that were each about 4 feet wide. What hotel even has a bed this small. And who wants to spend their anniversary in a room with these beds? I called the front desk, they said that’s the room I booked and I informed them that in order to use my free night the Hilton staff has to book the room. I informed them at the time I was booking the room that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. This was some kind of joke. The hotel later had some room upgrades but I was exhausted dealing with the mess these guys had already made of our anniversary. I was very upset with the lack of efforts made by the hotel staff, and very upset with Hilton’s in general.

Great hotel with an amazing property

Loved the reach! Beachfront property with heated pool. Gorgeous pier and hammocks, lawn games. Plenty of beach seating and right next to their delicious restaurant and bar (which made a killer white sangria!). Room was spacious and clean, and I loved the special touches like the pretty blue tile in the bathroom and the shutters on the windows, which added a lot of charm. Really cute market/coffee shop on the property. Very friendly and accommodating staff who fit us in when travel plans changed. Easy walk to restaurants and bars. Would recommend this spot to anyone! Great place to vacation and be taken care of.
