  Dont go to Atlantis Reef

  Way over priced, beach dirty and small and closed often, room quality good, Food way over priced and average quality (except for Fish restratuant). Staff service good. transportation very expensive. NOT all inclusive. better options avaialble. Stayed at Reef. Dont recommend

  Excellent customer service

  We found the customer service and staff really makes the difference. Ours was a memorable stay thanks to: 1) Llyod (front desk) arranging for our party to be together with adjoining rooms connected by a secured private "lobby". We hadn't realized that one of the two reservations was an upgrade from the other, we would have otherwise been on different floors, if it wasn't for the upgrade. 2) Krista Taylor (manager) providing us a compensation of on-site credit - technical difficulties are unavoidable 3) Koardero (beach) for taking the time to get to know us, be patient with our accents and sometimes hesitant English, recognizing us every day for VIP treatment, and genuinely caring that we get a representative experience of the Bahamas culture. 4) Starbucks staff, very accommodating with my uncommon request, and exceptionally down-to-earth friendly A big thank you from Canada!

  Beware!! The mattresses are as hard as cement!

  The first red flag was that the guy checking us in at 3:48 PM proceeded to tell us the rooms were not ready and that we would have to wait To check in and that he would call us when the rooms were ready. I immediately looked at my watch noticing the time and was about to complain when he also looked at his watch, and then quickly changed his statement and said that the room was ready, but only one part and he would call us when the other connecting room was ready. As soon as we open the room to the suite, he was calling the phone to let us know that the other part of the suite was ready. I’m pretty sure they were both ready all alone. I did not understand what the big deal was with him trying to make us wait. I immediately thought that maybe were were being discriminated against, but I did not complain in front of my daughter and grandkids. The suite was nice, spacious and clean with the exception of the cabinets which appeared to have built up residue and needed scrubbing and cleaning. My overall concern was with the mattresses. I paid over $800 a night for a two bedroom suite to accommodate me, my daughter and grandchildren only to be completely disappointed that the mattresses were as hard as cement. It was literally like sleeping on a concrete floor. I am over 50 and quality of sleep is very important especially on vacation. We voiced our concern several times throughout our stay, but the only thing that was done was that they put a thin mattress pad over the mattresses which did not help at all. I feel really cheated and really disappointed that I paid that amount of money for a nice suite only to be unable to sleep the entire 4 nights we were there. During the course of the stay, I spoke to the front desk, the concierge, the online reservation desk, and I also filled out the first day survey, but no one addressed my concern. This was our first stay at Atlantis and looks like it will be our last.

  We love Atlantis, but a few hiccups

  Our rooms needed a lot of attention. We had a two bedroom suite and a single room. Both had major electrical problems with outlets. We did enjoy and appreciate the atmosphere and the employees. Our only employee problem was with a bellman that forgot to put one of our suitcases on the van to the airport. Unfortunately we didn’t discover this until we were at the airport. I called back and the staff had my bag and had it sent to the airport in a taxi at our expense. That was disappointing that we had to pay for a mistake such as this.

  Family Fun

  We took a family trip for my daughter’s 18th birthday with the whole family. The 2-bedroom suite accommodated all of us with space to spare. We had an amazing experience, the views were spectacular, and the service was superb. Definitely a luxury vacation perfect for the whole family.
