I recommmend the reef playa car

Beautiful grounds , lovely rooms and the staff are amazing go out of their way to make your day good. Stunning beach and a good time . I recommend anyone to come for a holiday to the reef Playacar ☀️ entertainment do an amazing job in the day and night, elena is always smiling and getting people involved in activities and angel too .

Extremely disappointing experience – rude staff and no care for families

Extremely disappointing experience – rude staff and no care for families We were shocked by how poorly we were treated at this hotel. We arrived with small children on a very hot day, exhausted and just hoping for some understanding and basic hospitality. Instead, the staff were openly rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Not only did they ignore our needs as parents traveling with little kids, but their attitude showed zero empathy or professionalism. It felt as if they couldn’t care less whether we were comfortable or not. For a place that advertises itself as family-friendly, the experience was the exact opposite. The lack of courtesy and basic kindness ruined what should have been a pleasant stay. We left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I would strongly advise families — or anyone who expects decent service — to look elsewhere.

It was an ok stay

The ambience was really nice however the meals were not the best. They needed more work in the kitchen area and more options. While there we were assisted in a few instances by an employee called Teresa that works in the spa. She was very helpful and tried to assist us after being poorly treated by a bartender in the VIP area called Felix. We had the premium badge and did not know where that area for the beach was and instead of pointing us in the direction politely he had a rude attitude while continuously telling us that we are not allowed in that specific area. Other than that the staff was great and it was a relaxing stay.

UNSAFE for ALLERGY sufferers

Unsafe for Allergy Sufferers I have a severe nut allergy and the hotel has not handled it safely. Staff give conflicting information, meals are forgotten, and one even shouted at me when I asked about food safety. I’m only on day 5 of a 14-night stay and every day has been a struggle to eat. Not recommended for anyone with allergies There has also been other issues thus far with the rooms etc however these have been remedied. The only saving grace for this hotel is Tyler from concierge.

Great hotel choice

We had a great stay at reef Playacar - wonderful setting with a lovely rustic charm. Loved the rainforest being an integral part of the hotel. So many activities on offer both within the hotel and on the beach which was great for two teenage kids. Moses did a fantastic job with running the entertainment and always made things fun and enjoyable. Great location too with easy access to city. The staff are all friendly, welcoming and work hard to look after the guests. The spa is fantastic, had the best massage I’ve had in a long time. Plenty of food choices on offer, but food could be better.
