The resort itself was beautiful. I gave it a three because in the first 24 hours I had to change my daughter and sister room due to things breaking. First the sink handle came completely off, then the shower handle came completely off, then the light fixture caved. My sink was dirty and clogged. And my other sister only had hot water one day. Not to mention we all woke up one day with no water at all. With all of that, maintenance was very quick and responsive. The staff was very kind and friendly. They do need more of a variety of food and more entertainment, especially for the adult only area. We came for for my husband and I 15 year vow renewal, and that was absolutely AMAZING!!!! Our coordinator Aurea was very responsive and caring. She made that day exactly what I envisioned and took time to handle every detail we wanted. Also, our photographer John took the most amazing pictures. So for her and her team, I definitely give 10/10.

We stayed in the altitude club side. The service was great. Food delicious. There were three guys that gave us exceptional service, and we were always genuinely happy to see them, the bartender in the altitude club grill, Hugo, and the waiter Ricardo. At the Montero restaurant, the waiter Julio. Will definitely come back.

The good: The beds were comfortable. The upgraded package allowed us to eat in The Grill restaurant (which was the only decent food available at the place). The upgraded package also got us an ocean front room. The room was clean but in need of some renovations (as is the entire property). The service was fine. Some places better than others. Excellent drinks at the lobby bar and rooftop bar. Pool drinks were another story. Every margarita tasted different that the one before. We switched to something simple (frozen vodka and lemonade), hoping that would get a better result--it didn't. In some cases, the drinks tasted like there was absolutely no alcohol in it. And in one instance, it tasted like we were delivered a cup of just some slushy ice. The service at the restaurants was good. All very pleasant with the exception of the Italian restaurant. The staff tries hard and they are all very friendly and polite but why can't you get a decent margarita at the pool??? The food---it was terrible! We have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts so we know not to expect a gourmet food experience. Because there is a variety of choices, you can usually find something you like at an all-inclusive. Not here. The buffet was truly terrible and we tried-- giving breakfast, lunch and dinner a chance. The only exception was the made-to-order eggs at breakfast. And none of the food was hot. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: No one eats beef stroganoff for breakfast!! And cut up hot dogs are not breakfast sausage. Quality and variety of food were really lacking at Krystal Grand. Thank God we paid the extra $395 per person to be able to eat at The Grill. The food there was pretty decent but it was an extremely limited menu and not open every day, otherwise we would have eaten there exclusively. Mexican restaurant was ok. Italian restaurant--do yourself a favor and just skip it. There is a weird, VERY SMALL area were they have nightly entertainment. It's a small opening between buildings where they plunked down a tiny stage and 4 hard wooden benches. Basically about 10 people at a time could sit and enjoy the entertainment. I don't know who dreamed up this concept? Another strange concept here is the fact that the adult pool is closed in by hedges. So instead of a lovely ocean view while relaxing by the pool, you get to stare a a row of hedges. Really bad idea. People who take a beach vacation want to look out at the ocean. The property is badly in need of some maintenance and upgrades. Rusty railings, dingy chairs and dirty, broken pool umbrellas. I recognize that major renovations cost a lot of money, but come on folks, replace your busted pool umbrellas.

Had a very Good Time!
The Service was great and the food was very good, good choices to pick from. I enjoyed the pool on the adult side, the server (Julian) was great. Overall, is a calm stay, family friendly. The hotel will help with booking excursions and reservations for dinner. Drinks seemed water down but it will sneak up on you. We went for my wife’s birthday and the staff brought cake to our room and the chef at the hibachi made a nice surprise for her. I recommend for a short weekend getaway.

BelAir Adult Only Experience
Pedro is the best bartender at the adult only swim up pool. 2nd day, he poured my girlfriend her favorite wine without asking when we swam in up! Right on the beach (but too dangerous for swimming) But you can walk up and down the beach.*Piscado Break great beach pub and great food!
