Never again
We left early and moved to another hotel which we have previously stayed at . I have stayed here before in 2024 , with my sister . I decided to bring who I’m away with as the last time I came it was lovely . Now let me just state . The staff are amazing and friendly and welcoming . I don’t know what’s changed but the food wasn’t to the standard it was last time . Also there’s no structure at the buffet and quite frankly people are absolutely rude and behave entitled . You can be there picking something and someone comes and moves you out the way to grab something . There’s no personal space at all. I understand people from different countries have different mannerisms and behaviours but let me just say manners and politeness cost nothing . I have never in my life felt so depressed by other peoples behaviours. I also found some people to be quite homophobic . I was also sat on my balcony having a conversasion , for next door to rudely say go inside and talk . I paid for my room and balcony so I just ignored her honestly found people quite rude . The staff and room are Good and the hotel it’s self it’s spotlessly clean . But we will not be back again . The two marks are for room and staff .

Good
The Riu Hotel is well situated in a quiet part of Adeje. There is a local bus route to reach adjacent areas and these run to tge Adeje bus station with good links. The rooms are of adequate size, are very clean, very comfortable and serviced daily and of adequate size. The food is good and adequate with a reasonable choice but the standard is variable depending on which chef is working to be honest - vegetables in particular can be undercooked. The staff are generally very good but the manner of some staff is not what is should be - some being rude and quite impolite - stand out examples are evening bar staff and pool-side staff. This does let the hotel down but apart from this it is a very good hotel.

Excellent overall
Bedrooms are simply but comfortably furnished, food is good if a little uninspiring, staff are very friendly and most helpful and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Pool areas are pleasant and restful. A few areas would benefit from some attention viz. ambiance in the spa treatment rooms and the standard of the massage treatment was somewhat disappointing. Poorly fitting Bedroom doors provide minimal sound separation from the corridors. A very pleasant stay and an excellent hotel overall however.

Lovely hotel in a great location.
3rd time at this hotel. Just coming to the end of a one week stay. Nearly everything about this hotel is top notch. Very friendly staff and really great service. Breakfast and dinner are both fabulous buffets with a first class choice of very nicely prepared food. 3rd floor room with a balcony and sea view is very spacious and perfectly functional. Big bed, good plumbing, large walk in shower and loads of storage space. The upper pool area has two large pools with loads of sun beds and plenty of shade. The lower area with an infinity pool, terrace bar overlooking the sea is really lovely with a beach like area with sun beds and plenty of shade from parasols and palm trees. The beach is right outside and there are nice walks either way - turn right for la Caleta or left for el Duque beach and a lovely shopping centre. The hotel and grounds are kept spotless. This week has been very busy and for the first time we’ve seen the typical hotel rush to reserve sunbeds every morning! This despite the hotel stating it’s not allowed. But everyone was doing it so we joined in the fun!! I thought I was going to be able to reserve a bed in a good spot today until the gentleman in front of me managed to cover six beds with towels in one glorious flourish!! It was very impressive to watch and made me realise I’m an amateur at this game!! But I guess it’s a symptom of such a wonderful and popular hotel that’s it’s so busy that people feel the need to play that game. Overall, a wonderful week in a really lovely hotel.

Another great stay at the Arecas
Our 9th stay at the Arecas once again ticks all the boxes. As we tend to spend most of our time down at the beach bar can I say a special thanks to Anka for looking after us.I know the standard of dress for dinner is hard to enforce but men in vests need to be thrown out in my opinion also having to inhale other guests vape smoke needs looking at especially at the beach bar and around the sun loungers. Overall a great stay booked for nxt year already.
