  60th Birthday break

  We spent a week at the RIU Bambu for a sunshine break to celebrate my 60th birthday. As a party of 5 we had 3 rooms, one standard with 2 double beds & 2 larger rooms which had super king size beds & a sofa bed that was made up (not used) I would say the rooms are slightly dated but I couldn’t fault the cleanliness, the maids came in daily & it was a very nice touch that they “made the room up” for my birthday with balloon’s & flowers. The bed was very comfortable to sleep in though the air con was extremely loud for me as a light sleeper so I ended up turning this off at night which wasn’t a problem in Jan but may be a problem in hotter times. The drinks fridge was restocked every other day ( 7 up, Pepsi, sparkling water, large still water & cans of Presidente beer) We were in villa 90 which was a very short stroll to the beach which is FANTASTIC!! Plenty of sunbeds on there . Lots of choice food wise so we always found something to eat at the 2 buffet restaurants & we also ate at the steakhouse & Ole Spanish restaurant where the food was delicious! The nightly entertainment was a mix of singers & dance shows with a few quizzes & similar to what you’d get in most all inclusive hotels we’ve stayed in before. Would I recommend the hotel Bambu? Absolutely!…would I go again?…Absolutely! …the beach front location is fabulous, the food & entertainment is good but the absolute best selling point are the STAFF!…so friendly & helpful be it the guys at check in & check out, the housemaids, the bar staff , restaurant staff…all of them!…they made a good holiday great so thank you RIU Bambu for a wonderful birthday holiday

  Nice vibes and really good holiday

  Employees are the strongest what this hotel have. Need refreshment : swimming pools, rooms are really in a bad condition

  The beach was beautiful, I had no complaints about the food, pools were awesome, staff was friendly.

  Excellent Customer Service!

  All of the staff at this hotel were amazing, kind and accommodating our entire trip. But I need to give a special shout out to Dionela Barrera in Public Relations/Customer Service for going above and beyond in helping get an item back to us in the United States that my daughter accidentally left in our room when we checked out. She left behind a stuffed teddy bear (that was worth more for sentimental reasons than it was worth financially), and was absolutely devastated, but not only did Dionela help coordinate the return of the bear to us, she also sent along pictures of the bear enjoying his extra 3 days at the hotel: bear by the beach, bear drinking coffee, bear on a sun lounger, to prove he was just fine! My daughter was absolutely delighted and smiled ear-to-ear. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture to make a sad little girl happy again. I really cannot thank Dionela enough for going to extra mile. This lady deserves a big promotion & pay raise!!! A+++++++

  You get what you pay for

  Had a pleasant two weeks at the Riu Bambu. The hotel is dated and looking tired and could do with a refurbishment that said we still had a good time and there was plenty on offer. We didn't pay a lot and could have paid significantly more for a more modern hotel...you get what you pay for. Beautiful beach, many choices of food and drink and a mixed bag of entertainment both during the day and in the evening. All staff were extremely helpful and polite.
