Wonderful
First time in Mexico. Fabulous hotel - made fabulous by the staff. Each and every member of staff here are so welcoming, friendly, and happy. They all work so very hard and are a credit to the hotel. The hotel is immaculately clean. Rooms lovely and fridge regularly restocked. The weather was fantastic apart from one day due to storm Helene. Food was very nice with plenty of choice. Not having to book, but rather queue, for the A La Carte suited us well - we never had to wait. The beach is like a little slice of paradise. The only very slight negative (as noted by a previous reviewer) is there is no quiet relaxing by any of the pools. They are all very noisy. This was slightly disappointing, therefore we opted for the beach most days. The water park is great - very well maintained and supervised.

No Fun!!!!
The staffs are pleasant and courteous, the entertainment is BORING and Lacking fun. The pool side has deadbeat no entertainment. No reservation can be made for the restaurant, so you have long waits, it's first come first serve. My BIGGEST issue is there are stray dogs in the dinning area (buffet, steakhouse), I wish I was told to to expect them when I was checking in. There was a lot of big ass water bugs flying around. The walk to your room is long, lonely and creepy This Riu is more gear to Spanish-speaking culture. there is one gift / souvenir shop on safe property so it cost $50USD one way to go into town to market 28th.

Great holiday
We spent a lovely 2 weeks at the RIU Dunamar, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite, which was fantastic. The beach is lovely, pool areas can get noisy, and I do feel that the quiet pool where there is no music, should be that you carn’t play your own loud music and compete with others !! Buffet restaurant was fine, slightly repetitive but we enjoyed the restaurants particularly the Al a Carte and the Italian. The hotel is immaculate, all the staff are pleasant, friendly and work extremely hard to give such good service. A special thank you to Ricardo in reception, Elizabeth in the buffet, Sergio in the Italian, Freddy for his pool service and Jose for our room service.

Great experience
Our experience at Riu Dunamar was great. I went with my mom, so two adults. The beach is big and sooo beautiful, white sand and lots of shade for everybody- since it’s all palm trees, there’s no fighting over shade or having to reserve cabanas. Water park and beach sports were fun (free bodyboards, free kayak for 20 min every day, paid jet ski and other things). No seaweed, rocks or big waves if that’s a deal breaker for you. Honestly if a beautiful beach is a must for you in a resort experience, this is the place. We prefer beach over pool so can’t say much about the pools other than there’s 4 different ones with lots of seating and shade; the pools do get pretty warm in the afternoon and of course lots of kids and entertainment activities which wasn’t our vibe so we didn’t spend a lot of time there. Hotel transport was reliable. Rooms and common areas very very clean. All the staff were incredibly kind and friendly (shoutout Manuel Sanchez from the beach bar!). Food at the buffet was great and tbh exceeded my expectations in quality. They do vary some of the main dishes but after 5-6 days it can get a bit repetitive. On the first night we tried the Italian restaurant and didn’t love it so we didn’t try any other restaurants and stuck to the buffet— lots of variety to choose from and honestly everything was pretty well seasoned and fresh. Alcoholic drinks were a little bit watered down but we’re not huge liquor drinkers and stuck to wine in the evenings, so not a big deal breaker for us. We tried the spa as well. Paid services were too expensive but we reserved what was included which is 45 min for steam room and jacuzzi. It was pretty quiet, clean and standard. I’ve read bad reviews about the air conditioning in the rooms but to be honest it worked great for us. Room cleaning was great and you get an assortment of soft drinks, beer and water in the mini fridge. There’s also a liquor dispenser in the room lol Entertainment was pretty standard and ran every night from like 7-11pm with amplified sound. After 11 it was all very nice and quiet. Overall great experience, would be back :) next time we might try an adults-only since kids running around everywhere were a bit much, but this is a family hotel so it was expected.
