I was there with my granddaughter to celebrate her 4th birthday. We had a great time even tho there were a few let downs. 1. I emailed customer service 2 weeks before arriving, to request a birthday cake for my granddaughter, and everything was in place, or so I thought. I got to the restaurant to dine, only to find out that our name was not on the list of birthday cakes. Very disappointed. But Manager Orlando, turned it around and made a special celebration for us the following evening. Thank you, Orlando, you are truly a Gem. Great attitude and provided excellent service. The front desk agents could be a bit more understanding and show more empathy. They seem to lack empathy at the front desk. I also had mold in my bathroom which they did have fixed. I should not have been checked in a room with mold tho. The entertainment was exceptional. Saturday night white party was fantastic!! Food was great for most days. I found the lunch options to be better than at dinner time in the buffet restaurant. Overall, a great trip and will be back!

Smashing Hotel
We spent two weeks at the Riu Ocho Rios at the beginning of January 2025. Smashing hotel with a great choice of food options. The rooms were very clean and the free minibar (optics) in the room was an added bonus. Special mention to Davina our maid who did a wonderful job keeping our room clean and tidy during the stay. The entertainment staff did a great job and the Riu Party nights were great fun. We didnt have to wait long for drinks either as there was plenty staff around to serve. The only down side was the evening shows in week two were the same as week one which was a shame. Pools were clean and there was never a problem getting a sunbed either at the pool sides or at the beech in front of the hotel. Everything considered it was a great holiday. Ocho Rios is centrally located which makes it a good starting location for trips / excursions.

Really great for families
This resort was great for our family. Everything was close. The pools, water slides, the restaurant's, the beach and entertainment. There was a different event happing constantly, the food was good, there was access to drinks constantly. The rooms were clean and the staff was really accommodating and friendly to us and our kids!
