Mar 23, 2025Our first trip at a RIU property
Our stay was fantastic, the food was AMAZING!!! The staff was very friendly and inviting, we absolutely enjoyed our trip and would stay at a RIU again. We have 2 small kids (7 and, under 2) the kids club could've been better, but bear in mind I'm comparing this with Royal Caribbean and theirs is the best I've seen so far. The only real improvement I would recommend is the check-in process. It was really chaotic for alot of people, the main issue was rooms not being ready for 1-3hrs past check-in time.

Only draw back from having ocean view room was horribly loud bass at night from beach front entertainment. Couldn’t sleep through that!

They brown towels they use stinks horrible. They need to be whit so they can be bleached to smell better and see stain
Love love this hotel. Stayed there in October and again in January and everything is good except for the towels. They use brown towels and they smell horrible. You can’t tell if they’re dirty or clean. At least white towels can be bleached and you can see if they’re stains.

Mar 22, 2025Great for Families, But Lacks Nightlife and Dining Flexibility
First and foremost, this resort was beautiful and located in a secure area. The staff was incredibly friendly, which made the trip even more enjoyable. The rooms were spacious, and our fridge was restocked daily, with housekeeping servicing the room every day. Just a heads-up, this is a family resort, so if you're young and looking for a vibrant nightlife, this may not be the place for you. Most other RIU resorts I've visited have a disco or some form of party, but here, there was only one RIU party on Saturday, and children were allowed to join. Additionally, there weren't any clubs nearby—the closest was a lounge. This is a great spot for families, with plenty of activities for children and a very safe environment. However, there were a few drawbacks. Aside from the lack of nightlife, there are only three restaurants available, and reservations were required for the entire week of our stay. After having the buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, we were really looking forward to enjoying fresh meals at a restaurant. I found this to be quite disappointing. Our RIU app didn't work, so we were unable to make dinner reservations and were left with the same options every day. In other RIUs I’ve stayed at, at least one restaurant didn’t require a reservation, giving guests more flexibility. Lastly, on our final night, we discovered three roaches in the bathroom. We were shocked because the room had been cleaned daily, so this was an unpleasant surprise. Unfortunately, our room seemed to be the only one affected.
