Spent 3 nights with the family and there was a lot of things to do, from epic water slides to karaoke, it was a fun weekend. The food was also great!

Liked the old Riu Ocho Rios Better
This is still a great resort with a great beach which, outside of Negril, is a rarity. The staff are almost always friendly and helpful to a man and woman and if you have kids, the pool area on the east side is full of activities for them and is always lively-they have this fantastic bubble machine the kids love and the music is fun. While the food quality is not as good as when I first came here over 10 years ago, the food at the Italian and steakhouse specialty restaurants is not too bad. However, with the variety, even the pickiest eater will find something they like. Depending on how you get here and traffic, expect an hour and a half from Mobay airport but be advised: NOW YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT AN ON LINE JAMAICAN IMMIGRATION FORM BEFORE YOU BOARD TO COME HERE. You are very close to Dunns River Falls but try to go before or after the cruise ship crowds. You can usually see from the hotel beach if one is in town. If you can, splurge, definitely go for the few ocean front rooms as the view and beach are spectacular. The old Riu before the renovation was better and I wish they would clean the garbage/debris/seaweed filled beach more often but this is still a great place that has people from all places and races that make it diverse which we love. On arrival of the Riu the hotel was amazing staff was friendly and the hotel room was clean which is all you want for a good stay on day 3 I started to feel unwell and my stomach in knots I suffered the worst upset stomach I have ever encountered I lost out on half of my holiday due to lying in bed when I retires to the uk I was still very unwell I went to the doctors and after tests I was told I had a severe case of salmonella food poisoning and it was a strain that came from meat which I would of consumed on your complex I am very upset and angry that a holiday of a lifetime left me very unwell I couldn’t even look after my children :( I have written a complaint and I am now awaiting a reply

Overall, I thought the RIU Ocho Rios was the perfect accommodation for our large group. It offered various dining options, and the staff was always happy to accommodate us. The resort offered fun for all ages and a variety of activities for everyone. Jamaica was just beautiful and was the perfect place for our trip. Ocho Rios was a prime location for the excursions we wanted to do (Dolphin Cove, Dunns River Falls, and Blue Hole are a must)! I can't wait for our next trip!

Impressive!
I enjoyed my stay at RIU. The staff were friendly, the room and view pleasant. I had no complaints about the food choices and availability to keep your belly full and satisfied. No need to look for entertainment off the property (unless you want) because it was all right there. The lineups were festive and fun!
