Fantastic Time! RIU Antilles (Adults Only)

What a great hotel! Spacious rooms (my room on the 10th floor ocean view). House keeping very nice and accommodating (what ever you need [extra supplies] it's just for the asking). All of the (onsite) restaurants were wonderful, never had a bad meal, and the variety incredible. Remember to make reservations at one of their signature restaurants (3 to choice from). The staff at the buffet restaurant are very accommodating, just tell them the size of your group and within minutes you and your friends are good to go. If you want prime location on the beach or around any of the pools, you will have to get up early but don't worry. If you want to get a spot at the beach or at the pool just ask one of the pool / beach attendant and they will set you up with a lounge chair. A hidden gem is the quit pool (entrance located between the The Palm restaurant and one if the outside lounge). Enter through a white door and you're there! Oh yes, I almost forgot, unlimited adult libations......never ending variety. Five Stars all the way, enjoy!

    Riu Stay

My husband along with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law spent a week at the Riu Antillas in August of 2023. We did have a great time as it was our first trip since Covid. But i do very STRONGLY agree with a review that Hikingrocks wrote on April 6th. Quote Pros: - STAFF EXCELLENT! Everyone goes out of their way to make guests happy! - Overall the food is good (4 restaurants, 1 Buffet) - Numerous bars with quick and friendly service - We feel very safe here - Hotel, rooms, restaurants, grounds, washrooms and pool areas are kept very clean - Adults only, which is strictly enforced. Cons: Beach area - Not well maintained - many cigarette and cigar butts - Palapas require maintenance or replacing - many are in poor condition - Guests that reserve Palapas at 6 AM then leave chairs vacant for hours (rules are not enforced) - Loud telephone calls on speaker phone - Numerous speakers playing various music genres - Smoking - cigarettes, cigars and occasionally marijuana Pool area: - Pool area does not have enough umbrellas to provide shade for all the chairs - Cigar smoking in the swim up pool - Washrooms need updating Unquote We had actually verbally expressed our concerns with the conditions of the beach the smoking and cigarette butts all on the beach. To the manager in the buffet restaurant as he came around for feedback on how to improve the resort. Our feedback isn't taking seriously enough to make the changes for us to return.!!!

Riu Antillas adults only resort was a great time

My wife and I have visited Aruba over 25 times. This is the first time we stayed at the Riu Palace Antillas. We loved it! Our room 11114 overlooked the pool, sea view. Our room was updated and very clean. Susana and Nayerlin made us feel right at home during breakfast and lunch. They were amazing! The entire resort was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back and stay again at the Riu Palace Antillas. -speciality restaurants do not take reservations, so you get in line about 30 minutes before opening

Will be looking elsewhere for next year’s vacation

We spent 1 week at Riu Antilles in 2023 and just returned from a 2 week stay there this year. Pros: - STAFF EXCELLENT! Cons: Beach area - Not well maintained - many cigarette and cigar butts - Palapas require maintenance or replacing - many are in poor condition - Guests that reserve Palapas at 6 AM then leave chairs vacant for hours (rules are not enforced) - Loud telephone calls on speaker phone - Numerous speakers playing various music genres - Smoking - cigarettes, cigars and occasionally marijuana Pool area: - Pool area does not have enough umbrellas to provide shade for all the chairs - Cigar smoking in the swim up pool - Washrooms need updating Misc: - Loud guests in the hallways late at night (after disco closes) We will be looking at alternative resorts for next year. Our main concerns are the inability to secure a Palapas without waking up before the sun rises and the lack of umbrellas around the pool. We head south for beach and pool enjoyment but consider shade to be an essential element that Riu Antilles does not adequately provide. While the staff are phenomenal, we have witnessed, on both visits, a number of guests that are totally inconsiderate of the enjoyment of others.

The most stressful vacation we ever had Riu Antillas.

The most stressful vacation we ever had, because you had to run, hustle and line up for everyyyything. Piece of advise before even going through my review, if you are looking for a relaxing quit vacation, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. We just got back from Aruba Riu Antillas, as much as I LOVED Aruba, that much I HATED staying at Riu. I usually NEVER stay at Riu because I know the fact that they are barley qualified for 3 stars and they act like they are 5 stars, and most of them are so outdated to the point that they should be out of business honestly, however, in Aruba are not much all-inclusive options, and that’s what my bf wanted, and we picked the Antillas thinking its adult section and might be little better. To be fair, food and the beach were great, the staff are friendly, but the WORST managements I’ve ever seeing in my life. Is like they were scared to see and meet people, perhaps they knew what they will hear. 1st of all up on arrival, we were all checked in to rooms already before arrival, and they lined us up like sheep at the side, not even at the front desk, and handed the keys out to us after we signed, so you can’t even make a room request and discuss anything, NO CLASS not what so ever. And then good luck getting into an elevator, OH MY GOD. Then for thousands of people, there are ONLY 3 restaurants, and its 1st come 1st serve, which I’ve never seeing or heard of on any resorts. So, you have to line up Infront of the restaurant at 5.30 pm to get in for 6.30 seating, what a JOKE. Andddddd you are not allowed to go to the other Riu’s restaurants, only to their buffet. One night we had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes to get in, we when were told 45 minutes, and we had a buzzer, so an hour later, my bf said let me go and check, then we realized they were letting people in before us maybe they were tipping or something, till my bf made a seen and asked for the manger, then the lady said oh sorry I made a mistake. And not to mention THE WORST OF MOST, the pool/beach staff, they are like a mafia there, so start with the beach chairs, are all looked with a cable that you have to call them to get what you want, and while you on your vacation you HAVE to wake up at 6 am to reserve a spot, if you lucky to find one by that time, because the staff put towels on all the front ones even before 6 am (which supposedly you aren’t allowed to reserve them before 6) but they do that and they give them to people who pay them, I was stunned by that they were like a gang, pulling stack of money out of their pocket. On top of thousands of dollars, you paid to be there, and now you have to pay them for your front and best spot at the beach, while other people have to get up early on their vacation to get whatever left over. UNBELIEVABLE, and the management is aware of that but they couldn’t care less, because there was a fight over spots everyday at the beach, and some took it up to bring the managers out, but they did NOTHING, this place is a joke.
