  Don’t stay RIU adults only…kids are better than worse property!

  Went to the Riu Adults only hotel w my wife for 5 days and the only good thing about the place is you can go to the other Riu properties next door. The ADULT ONLY hotel is by far the WORST property out of the 3! The parties are at the Riu Santa Fe and that place has many more dining options and to be honest all of the restaurants at the Riu resorts that allow kids are WAY better than the adults only resort. The facilities at the adult only resort are FAR subpar compared to the other two resorts. I mean you can get sushi/sashimi at the resorts that allow kids and nothing of the sort at the Adult Only resort…wtf!? The band/stage is in the middle of the hotel so no matter where your room is you will def stay up until midnight bc of the noise and NOBODY is at these shows! The place literally sucks. Wish I stayed at Santa Fe and I was surrounded by kids as the food options were better and the stages were more secluded away from rooms where you can actually sleep before 12p if you wanted to. RIU def messed up bad w this option for being their adults only hotel. 👎

  Wild Crowd

  Service is wonderful, staff is friendly and fast to serve you, and the food is good. Book your own transportation from the airport or you’ll be stuck in a 12 person van with 15 people in it. We knew this is a “party resort” when we booked the hotel. However, there were large groups of people who arrived the day before we left (we left the resort on a dark day) and they were allowed to yell and shout going up and down the hallways all hours of the day and night, blast music even though there are “no speakers” signs posted around the resort, etc. We even witnessed a few fights including throwing food and loud shouting in the pool and buffet. It was disappointing to see the staff have to clean those messes and other guests were having to witness those events while trying to relax and have a nice time. Amazing view but the beach is very steep and slanted so not very walkable.

  Valuables Not Safe — Frequent Theft Reports

  I recently stayed at the Riu Palace Baja California, and unfortunately my experience was overshadowed by the theft of my iPad from my room. I’m fairly certain it was in the safe, but regardless of where it was taken from, the outcome was the same: nothing was done. There was no meaningful investigation, no follow-up, and no sense of urgency from management. After the incident, I started researching and was shocked to discover that many guests across the Riu Palace properties in Cabo San Lucas have reported similar issues over the years, including theft from rooms and even from locked safes. Some reviews mention compromised key cards, questionable maintenance visits under the guise of “dead batteries” on safes, or safes being accessed from the back. Commonly stolen items include iPhones, laptops, AirPods, cash, and other valuables. Many guests report that management was unhelpful or dismissive when incidents were reported. While not every guest experiences this, the volume and consistency of these reports is very concerning, especially since my own experience aligned with them so closely. For what you pay to stay here, basic security should not be something you have to worry about. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I would not recommend staying at this property. If you do choose to come, bring your own portable safe—or better yet, avoid bringing valuables altogether. I wish I had known this before booking.

  Great From start to finish. Quick easy check in, great room, clean everywhere, many pools and friendly staff.

  From the time we checked in until we sadly checked out a week later we could not have been more pleased. Check in was easy, fast and friendly. Hueberto (I think I spelled that correctly) explained everything well including access to the other Riu resorts with the exception of the Elite club Lounges. He pointed out directions on the map and we were on our way. The room was impressive and clean. It took us a couple of minutes to figure out that you have to put your key in the card slot by the door to engage the light/power in the room. Would have been embarrassing to call when he probably told me and I missed it, lol. We did have an issue with the safe, when trying to set the new code for our use we had a low battery error. Calling the desk had it fixed in just a few minutes, quite literally, they sent a maintenance worker straight up to test and it was fixed moments after that. It didn’t hold us up at all. These things happen and it is how they are handled that shows the true measure of their commitment to the guests. Pools were great, super clean and we always found chairs. Yes, a lot of people went down super early to save some but that happens everywhere. We usually grabbed seats at breakfast and were fine. I saved food for last, it was wonderful. The buffet had so much selection you could eat there every meal if you wanted, but try some others if you can (first come first serve, no reservations). We also ate at Guacamole, Krystal and Agave (best margaritas). All of the menus are available to look at ahead of time. I would like to add that the staff was amazing. They were always running their butts off to ensure everyone had what they needed. It was a well oiled machine. Thank you for providing a great time for my husband and I. We plan to be back soon but this time bring our three adult kids. They would love it and also the parties at Santa Fa
