Sep 09, 2026I had fun with my friends
Some of the Staff are very rude, there's a guy around the pool that is always takin out the tourist out of the pool without any explanation. We are traveling long hours, pay a lot money and our personal time to have a person to speak to us in rude way?? Not all staff were like that like Carlos on the breakfast restaurant and carmen, they were very nice. but overall I wont come back just because that guy around the pool.

Check in was a breeze and our rooms were ready early. Grest service throughout the property and bars. Immaculate grounds. Despite the storm that hit while we were there, the staff diligently worked hard throughout to keep everyone comfortable and safe. All my food selections and specialty restaurants were excellent.

A ceiling collapsed in the lobby during our stay, and staff didn't care "I stayed at the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas from August 30 to September 5, and checked out a day early because I didn't feel safe staying. On Thursday, September 3, a section of the lobby ceiling collapsed about 6 feet from where I was sitting. Chunks of ceiling and debris came down right next to the seating area where guests were relaxing. I have photos of the hole in the ceiling and the rubble on the floor. And it wasn't just one spot. A second, larger section of ceiling had come down in the lobby bar area, leaving a pile of rubble and exposed structure right next to the bar tables and chairs. When I raised it with staff, they dismissed it and said this happens because of rain. Rain is not an excuse for a ceiling falling on guests. When I asked about a refund after cutting my stay short, they refused. A resort at this price should be maintaining its buildings and taking guest safety seriously. A ceiling coming down in a crowded public area could have seriously hurt someone, and the shrug I got from staff was worse than the damage itself. Think twice before booking here."

The resort is beautiful however the Lobby Bar is an “Open-Air” bar which means no air conditioning. Also, the specialty restaurants are air conditioned but not very cool. The staff are amazing - friendly, helpful, etc. Have been to this resort in years past and it seems like the food has definitely gotten better.
