Riu Palace Cabo is a winner!

Where do I begin. So much to tell but to sum it all up and after reading some negative reviews, Riu Palace is fantastic! The views from the lobby bar, Buffet restaurants and pool are absolutely stunning. They could not have picked a better spot to build this resort. If the beach location is your top priority this is it right here!! The staff take pride in keeping this place spotless. Every day we saw staff, mopping dusting cleaning you name it. Check in was a breeze. We booked our stay directly on the Riu App and used the pre check in before we arrived. We were in line under 10 minutes and the whole process took less than 15 minutes. Shout out to our Housekeeper Blanca. She did a great job refreshing our room with towels, making our bed, keeping the room tidy. She was such a sweet lady. The food is plentiful. I always found something I liked. My favorite restaurant was the Japanese. Awesome food and service. Prepare yourself for walking. Many steps throughout the property. The huge lobby lounge was a great spot to hang out in the evening. And I love how the little cafe was in the same location in case you wanted coffee or snacks. Although it was all inclusive we left the property almost at least 3 times to hang out at the Marina or walk around in downtown Cabo. We tried a few local spots for lunch and drinks. We love patronizing the local places when we travel. Some travelers never leave their resorts but we always do. Overall our first trip to Cabo and the Riu Palace was great. Looking forward to a return visit.

    Definitely plan to return someday...

My family and I chose to stay at RIU Palace for our annual getaway, and it turned out to be a great decision. The room was spacious and wonderful, and the view was breathtaking. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and we savored every moment of our visit. The staff was consistently kind and attentive to our needs, and I appreciated all the services they offered. I would highly recommend RIU to anyone looking for a fun place to stay in Cabo. I definitely plan to return someday.

    Missing Paradise

Our first RIU experience was excellent. I wrote to thank RIU for an unforgettable family trip and for other fellow travellers. I appreciate honest and current reviews. Check-in was quick and friendly. All staff were friendly and attentive. Staff were everywhere. They were helpful and kind. Grounds and pool and beach were beautiful. Pools and restaurants were very good. Tons of food. Lots to choose from. Pepe’s tacos were a favourite. Loved Capucchinos at the coffee bar and mimosas at the breakfast buffet. Food was fresh and good at the buffet - a crazy amount to choose from. Truly something for everyone. Fun pool staff. Cool activities for kids and families. Ping pong, beanbag toss, vball, assortment of challenges for kids. Staff worked hard and seemed happy. Stunning views. Beautiful sand and water. Clean beach. Locals were polite and not too pushy. Fun to collect small seashells with my young son. Waves varied - not always good for swimming.. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets. RIU app great to communicate with for room requests etc. Responsive. Only real suggestion may be to upgrade artwork in rooms, and refresh decor. Clean rooms. Beds were comfortable and sheets were good. We slept well. Hot water. We loved the liquor cabinet in our room and our stocked fridge. Some snacks might be a nice addition. Uber works well when leaving resort. Catch outside of bottom gate. Cheaper than taxis. Thank you RIU. We had such a lovely time. Thanks so much.

    Personal safety nightmare

Just returned from a 6 night stay at the Riu Palace with a large group for a high school spring vacation. While the grounds, pool and view are beautiful the resort fell short everywhere else. My biggest complaint besides the food, was the safety of the resort. I would never travel here with children or teens. Our group had quite a few scares and some that included hotel staff. Bribery and unwanted touching being part of that list. For many reasons, I would never return.

    Bad service

Unfortunately we have expectations, but restaurant service was awful, front desk very rude. There are better options for your money. Employees did not respect the national tourism, we wait for more than 1 hour to get a spot in the steak restaurant.
