Awesome vacation
Every place you look, there are people cleaning, you could eat of the floor! That what impressed me most.

Excellent Girls Trip
Excellent place for a girls trip with only 1 major hiccup. I've been at many 3 other RIU resorts but never a Palace. Costa Mujeres is my FAV location and the main area I stay when I am in Mexico - but first time at the Palace. Check in was easy however they did not have the specific bed request upon arrival. We booked 2 Ocean Front rooms each with double beds, however only 1 double and 1 kind was available and were on opposite sides of resort. It was a pain to move rooms the next day - who wants to stop vacation mode midway through the day, pack up a room by 12:00 and the next not available until 3:00. The beds are on the "harder" side. I did bring a 3" mattress pad which helped my back. Aside from that, the rooms were always CLEAN and housekeeping did a great job with towels and bedding. Mini fridge was always full and plenty of water. We asked for an extra towel card to keep in the key slot for the lights and air conditioning, but housekeeping took that on day 2. Buffet was impressive and tasty as were all other sit down restaurants except for the Japanese. This was my least favorite with no chicken option available and the beef was extremely hard. The deserts in the coffee shop were fantastic and the nightly pre-music was pleasant. We did not try the room-service option but after looking at the menu it seemed very limited. All of the waitstaff were amazing and hustled their butt off. I am an early riser so we never had issues finding a spot at either pool area. Pool service was TOP-NOTCH! I can't rave enough about MISAEL. He was outstanding and kept up with our drink orders always checking in to see if we needed anything. He would randomly surprise us with a few shots through out the day and knew our likes and dislikes after 1 conversation. His smile and upbeat attitude went beyond any other resort I have stayed at. He is a GEM! Frank at Mezcal did a great job at the swim up bar as well. They both made the pool experience for our group. There were two Adult Only pools - children could use the lounger chairs but I never seen kids in the adult only pool which was great. I did feel there could have been better music at the adult pool. I asked if they could turn it up or even switch it to fun music and was told no. The beach was very clean with no seaweed. The waves were a little rough at times but there were plenty of chairs available. I did not see any umbrellas for shade but most chairs were under the palm trees. The ocean was minimal feet from the chair area. The beach was great to walk but this is the last of 2 resorts on the north stretch. Getting to Dunamar was an easy safe walk on a concrete path that is lit up at night. We did use the waterslides a few times - no drinks allowed in that area. Also went there for the RIU GLOW PARTY and was super loud and after a while all the music sounded the same - but still a fun experience. Nightly entertainment was pretty great with the silent disco and some other bands. It would be delightful to have the Piano play in the coffee shop till later at night (done by 7 I think) to have some relaxing music to listen to at night. All in all a great girls trip location for the price!

Wonderful Couples Getaway at RIU Palace
As a couple, we recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Rio at Playa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, and we were truly impressed by the overall experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly smiles and exceptional service that made us feel welcome. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the beach. The stretch of sand was long and absolutely beautiful, with that perfect powdery texture that felt like sugar beneath our feet. The weather was fantastic during our stay, allowing us to fully enjoy the stunning beach and its tranquil ambiance. We spent countless hours relaxing by the water, soaking up the sun, and taking in the breathtaking views. The food was great, with a fantastic variety available in the buffet-style dining, including a wonderful selection of fruits and vegetables as well as different healthy choices. This was particularly beneficial for my wife, who has specific dietary requirements due to her health condition. We enjoyed sampling different dishes, but the beach truly stole the show for us. Although Rio at Playa Mujeres is a family-oriented hotel, we found it enjoyable as a couple. That said, there were a few drawbacks. The beds could be more comfortable, and the pillows were not the best. Additionally, we noticed some noise between rooms and in the hallways, which occasionally interrupted our relaxation. Overall, our stay at Rio at Playa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres was a lovely getaway. The combination of the stunning beach, great food, and attentive service made for a great hotel experience. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Wedding trip
We went to this hotel for our daughter‘s wedding. We love the hotel. The only thing that we did not like was our room was under the buffet so we heard the chairs scraping across the floor at all hours of the day and night. The staff were incredible, so friendly and willing to help in every way the grounds are beautiful and clean. Agusto at the buffet was our favourite! He was so helpful in getting us a table and would add tables as needed as more of our group arrived each night and on our last dinner night, he decorated us a fancy table and made room for our whole group such a standup guy! We will definitely be back!
