The staff at the reception and the service department are doing a terrible job. I contacted the reception three times regarding a broken safe and a phone that wasn’t working. Throughout the entire day, there was absolutely no response. They all just smile, take down my room number, and then do nothing. It really feels as though they couldn’t care less about the hotel’s reputation or the opinions of their guests.

Good with pros and cons
We stayed here in May 2026. We’re fans of RIU Palace hotels in general, and while we enjoyed our stay, this adults-only property has its advantages and disadvantages. Check-in was quick and efficient, and we received a complimentary room upgrade thanks to our RIU Class status—we’re almost Gold. Our room had ocean and pool views, along with a larger balcony. Unfortunately, a leak developed later in the holiday and we had to move rooms. Even the standard suites are spacious, with a huge bed, drinks optics and a well-stocked fridge. The buffet was excellent, and bar service throughout the hotel was very good. As with other RIUs, there are several speciality restaurants, although we feel the menus have become a little tired. These days, we tend to stick to the steakhouse and Italian. The biggest drawback was securing a sun lounger in a spot we liked. Leave it too late and you could end up close to loud music or somewhere that doesn’t suit you. We preferred the loungers by the main pool, closer to the hotel, where it was quieter. However, the building means some spots get the sun later or lose it earlier, and you need to be an early bird to secure one. As we’ve found at other RIUs, the entertainment could also do with a refresh. The hotel’s biggest advantage is its location, right in the heart of Cancún’s hotel zone, with inexpensive buses stopping directly outside if you want to explore further afield. Overall, we enjoyed our first experience of an adults-only RIU. You want for nothing, and the staff go out of their way to help. However, having to get up early to secure a preferred sun lounger would probably persuade us to choose a different adults-only RIU Palace next time.

Great Fun Fitness Entertainment Experience
We have stayed at the hotel for 3 weeks and Miguel, leading Rui Fitness and bringing Rui Fun has been absolutely standout during our trip. Miguel works so hard constantly. He runs his fitness classes with excellence, spirit and fun whilst also supporting Rui fun with hilarious energy and input. Miguel is an absolute credit and asset to the team and hotel! Always a friendly face around the hotel and pool, Miguel genuinely cares and puts a lots of heart into his work! Keep doing what you do Miguel - your absolutely awesome 👌

Excellent
Had a wonderful stay at the Rui Las Americas. Was fairly busy 95% occupancy. Food was excellent especially the lamb chops in the Italian. Waiter service on the beach was great thanks to Will. Room was spotless. Will deffo go back.
