    Great location and fabulous food

    RIght on the beach with a view of Isla Mujeres. Close to downtown Cancun, and just steps from bus stops, and from the ferry dock. Lots of activities for children. Rooms were kept very clean by friendly and hard-working staff. No snorkel gear or kayaks or paddleboards.

    Can't say enough about the terrific staff here

    Such friendly and accomodating staff! Arturro at the front desk and Serg the Electonic/Technical guy who came to fix a minor door key issue were so easy to deal with! We stayed in the Adult section, this is the best section. There was no elevator in these smaller buildings, so make sure if you need the ground floor you ask for it. Adult pool, personal a/c thermostat, good hot water and perfectly clean room . VIP (adults) has a dedicated adults-only restaurant, and feels more private than in the big building. I saw some drama going on in the lobby (mostly due to drunk young people) but that is not the fault of the hotel. The Riu parties, especially the Neon party, were amazing. I am not a big drinker and being older, I was more of a spectator. But I noticed there was a lot of security and felt safe. There was food and drinks everywhere. All the restaurants were good, but KULINARIUM-OMG. Waitstaff made it a 5-star experience. My adult son and I agree it was the BEST food we have had in a long while. Sports bar always open for a snack People who do not read the info on the website or aren't frequent travelers to Mexico should not leave negative reviews. Yes there is some language barrier, but they try their best. Would gladly come back to this hotel, and was perfectly comfortable here. Thanks, RIU!!

    Great Vacation at the Riu Palace Peninsula

    Our 7 day stay at Riu Peninsula was fantastic, with great pools and fun beaches! The restaurants were very good, with the Italian being out favorite. Everyone on the staff was friendly and attentive.

    Great getaway for anniversary trip

    The resort was super nice, it was not crowded maybe because it was after the Spring Break rush. Everyone was super helpful and friendly, we did not venture too far off the property. There is a convenience store and pharmacy down the street. There are plenty of pools, the beach area is small but very well maintained and we also accessed the beach at the RIU resort next door. We would happily stay here again. Food was good, minibar was always stocked. We stayed in the Deluxe Jacuzzi Suite and the room on the patio was enormous. Transportation to and from the airport was also handled through our booking with the resort which made things very easy.
