  Good but not usual Palace standard

  Check in was awful, Management promised all sorts to make up for issues but got few free naf souvenirs and late check out , didn’t get fruit , chocolate and Dominican coffee as promised. Room nice lovely balcony, but bathroom smelt of sewage. Water off twice and running cold in evening several times when getting ready for dinner. Fridge not kept full and all iced up . Lift nearest room out of order on several days . The music at shows and round pool bar extremely loud . The food in the buffet was very nice and there was a great choice . The Italian restaurant was excellent. The Steak house was nice food ok , but as they seated us behind a pillar they completely forgot our dessert. On the whole it was ok , but not our usual Palace experience, we have always been able to use other hotels nearby being in a Palace , but not this time we were not aloud in the other Palaces because they have been renovated. In all I would not return here I would only give it 5/10 .

  Staff was great. Hotel was meh!

  Grounds and staff were great. Rooms just okay. The shower for the people upstairs was leaking in our shower through the ceiling. Girlfriend got sick from something vomitting all night the food was good so we weren’t sure if it was the food or a bug she picked up. She was fine the next afternoon so probably the food. The entertainment was nonexistent. We played cards 4 out of the.6 night because there was nothing to do. We have stayed at a lot of other hotel chains but I don’t think we will choose Riu again.

  Good for Punta Cana, good for the price

  Service is excellent. Staff have been very accommodating including giving us their own WhatsApp numbers if we have any concerns. The lobby bar is a large, very nice, quiet place to hang out. Sports bar is good, service is iffy but plenty of tv’s. Grounds are 80/20 maintained, beautiful location and gardens. Housekeeping is early and nicely done although we didn’t get Kleenex, face towels, shower mat on occasion. Overall service has been amazing but there’s a few things lacking. At least 3 evenings out of 10 we’ve had cold water so unable to shower. One evening there was no water at all. Loungers around the pool are 90% ok and 10% falling apart. There are however a lot of them, no problem finding a spot around the pool. Entertainment is like a 5/10not very interesting. Food is good to great but not excellent. . À la cartes are good service but food is just meh, buffet is much better. We tried Italian, Japanese and steakhouse. Overall we’re happy with this resort but not 100% we’d return. I’ve been to DR about 20 times so I know what to expect. It’s a good resort but I was hoping for slightly better from a Riu Palace

  Nice resort. Service is not that great.

  I think the party hours need to be adjusted. Very clean, beautiful, and peaceful resort. Room service is not that great. Either they dont answer the phone call, if they answer half the time they deny room service because they don’t have stuff…. Pools close at 6:30pm and nothing to do till 11pm. Disco Pacho opening time should be updated from 9pm to 1am instead of 11pm to 2am.

  AN AMAZING HONEYMOON

  Myself and my husband recently stayed here on our honeymoon and we were amazed by the grounds of this hotel. The pictures do not do it justice on how big and grand it is. It is incredible and so clean. The buffet restaurant I would say was our favourite of them all, there was always something different on every night and plenty of choice. The staff are incredible, all of them give great service and we could not fault any one of them. Ray, Raul and Juan in the buffet restaurant looked after us so well for the 2 weeks we were there. Iris and Deisy the staff serving drinks in the evening were also incredible. They always had smiles on their faces. The animation team are great and always had so much energy, I was in awe! We spent the majority of our time by the pool where the bar is. The music starts at 10am and it is not at all loud and you are still able to relax whilst there but also have a party. The only ‘con’ I would say is the rooms need a little bit of modernisation and TLC, especially in the bathrooms. It didn’t bother us too much as we didn’t spend much time in the room and mostly sat by the pool. I would 100% recommend Riu Palace Punta Cana if anyone was unsure of which hotel to stay at.
