Beautiful resort, bar, restaurant service was amazing, the room was in bad shape, drawers didn’t work, fan in bathroom didn’t work, bad view, beds uncomfortable, front desk very slow checking in after long day of travel,

Paradise in Riu Punta Cana...
Very nice hotel and service . Amazing food in main and a la carte restaurants.Lots seafood .Beautiful beach, friendly atmosphere in the pool.Fantastic fun animations ,especially BebePo, . Great coffee and service from baristas in Capuchino bar. Ramon,Francisco from beach bar are very professional bartenders. Salut. Enjoy a lot my holiday in Riu Palace Punta Cana. I expected the Palace to be the top quality RIU resort. However, it came up short to the billing. The good first. The buffet had very wonderful people working there. Arias ( one of the table servers)was always cheerful, and made us laugh. He remembered our drinks and always greeted us with a smile. The resort grounds looked great and extremely clean. The lobby also looked really nice. The bad. The front desk receptionist seemed overworked, and tired. The rep never smiled when checking us in and it seemed it was more of a chore instead of being welcoming and friendly. The entertainment was just ok. The New Year's celebration was very blah. I thought bringing in the new year they would have had more lively entertainment. When asking about events happening, everyone was clueless about activities happening at the resort. We have been to other RIUs, but here the alcohol was not premium. The gym was small with outdated equipment. If 5 people were there, it was overcrowded. You could never get anyone on the phone when calling for services. Some chairs around the pool and on the beach were ripped. The a la cart restaurants were very poor quality. Overall, the experience was not what was expected. The rooms could use a refresh, updating.

The food was less than desirable. The price of the trip was cheap so I didn’t expect to notch food but it really wasn’t good at all. Service was top notch! Beds were horrible…woke up with back pain everyday. Rooms smelled like mold.
