Food quality, service and hotel cleanliness were all of high quality. Multiple restaurants allowed for a variety of dinner and lunch options

Excellent xxxxx
One of the best hotels i have stayed in.I will definitely be going back to Hotel Riu Palace Riviera Maya . It is a five star hotel, very clean excellent food very friendly & caring staff. The only thing I would recommend to management is to upgrade the sun loungers on beach. I travelled solo, and would recommend if you are happy with your company. There was lots of activity through out the day and evening which anyone can join in.

Overall very good
This was our first visIt to RPRM since covid and the major refurbishment although we have stayed 3 times previously. The Hotel is still very good and offers great value for money although there were disapointments. The room was spacious and comfortable although we didnt like the open plan bathroom and whoever decided it was a good idea to put a bath by the side of the bed needs to reconsider their career. Spoke to many people in the hotel and didnt find anybody who had used it or thought it was a good idea. Air con good and drinks replenished regularly and cleaning very good. The whole Hotel was kept spotlessly clean. ALL of the Staff were top notch everybody so friendly and helpful 10/10 Food very good in buffet especially enjoyed lunchtime. Having been to numerous Riu steak resturants and never having had a decent steak we didnt bother with that one but did try the Italian Restaurant which was very poor so didn't return. Dont like Japanese food and wasnt keen on the Krystal menu so didnt try them as there was always so much on offer in the buffet. Bar and pool drinks service were excellent with top shelf drinks in good measures. Thought wine was excellent quality for an all inclusive. Cuppucino bar very good with delicious cakes and snacks in the morning. As has been said before on other posts the entertainment was generally mediocre but the "warm up" acts were actually quite good and there were a couple of superb guitarists who we really enjoyed. Pool and grounds kept immaculate. Now my BIG MOAN. This Hotel has about 500 guests and only 1 lift which is at the far end of the lobby. We never had to wait long for it but to access the ground floor you had to go down a slope and though the back of the buffet restaurant. There was no lift at the pool end of the Hotel and as we were on the 3rd floor at the lobby end of the Hotel, and I have walking limitations, returning from the pool and negotiating 3 flights of stairs every day became a problem. I know they cannot redesign the hotel so thats the way it will be but I guess it was the same genius that thought it was a good idea to put a bath in the middle of the bedroom that decided to only install one lift.. So overall we had a great time but IF I return I would have to insist on ground floor room.

Great staff, so-so resort
We stayed last week ground floor in the new annex bldg at RPRM (7002) and it was very clean and comfortable. We’ve stayed in courtyard view rooms and sea-facing rooms in both the RPRM and RPM, but the ground floor was a nice change after a week prior on the 2nd floor at Iberostar… The water pressure was excellent, the water temp stable, and the mini fridge was actually very cold! We hardly used the liquor cabinet, but it’s nice having both Sprite and Pepsi for mixers. We enjoyed the close proximity to the pools and sea. But the pools here are soooo hot this time of year! We stayed away from the pools near the bar because they were just too hot. The swim-up bar pool was also hot but we enjoyed that a bit more… We are always disappointed with the ala cartes at all the RIUs, it just never changes…The Mexican and Steakhouse were absolutely terrible, we enjoyed the Italian one evening but it was not great. As usual we dined in the buffet most evenings or went into town to enjoy our favorite restaurants there! The staff is excellent, a shout out to housekeeping, and to Jorge and his fellow bartenders at the Cancun bar. And of course our favorite restaurant waiter Carlos…We always love catching up with him, just a great guy! We may return if we still get the opportunity to bid on vouchers, but we just prefer the Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal for the natural setting, the food, and the traditional rooms. But the staff here is great, the public areas beautiful, we just wish the food quality in the ala cartes was more consistent… We took advantage of our favorite taxi driver for excursions we came to know while living here. Just a genuinely humble gentleman with excellent prices who puts your safety first while sharing his love of country…🙏
