    A Hotel with everything

We stayed 10 days in RIU resort Playacar. it was a memorable holiday for us. Staff in all departments were polite, helpful with smiles. Dalilla in the Palm restaurant was amazing. Amount of food and varieties in all restaurants were brilliant. They could satisfy any taste and age. Entertainment group was amazing. All were young, enthusiastic, energetic. They were from Mexico, Colombia, Spain, England, Argentina,. Leonardo, Manilla, Cathyia,.. were entertaining you non stop anywhere from swimming pool site (foam party), to the beach (Coconut beach party) and in the theatre during evening time. Games, music, cultural introductions were phenomenal. Not only there is a 24/7 bar near reception, but also there was a mini bar in our room. Cleanness was beyond any standard. All inclusive really means all inclusive. It is highly recommended. Every Friday night you were invited to a big dancing party in nearby RIU Tequila resort.

    Nice Resort

Just got back from the Riu Playacar. We are a group of 7 ages 50- 85. We had a nice time. Food was good and there was something for everyone. Buffet was good. Great cappuccinos and coffee machine . The mimosas were also great to start the day:) Italian rest really good and has option of a la carte and buffet for lunch and dinner. It is also air conditioned which is a bonus . I liked the Asian and the steakhouse was ok . The waiters there were excellent and fun. The lobby does not have AC but has fans. The outside theatre has a great breeze most nights but was very hot when we were there Easter week. This resort is very clean and the people are very nice and friendly. The rooms are dated but clean and if any problem you call and they come immediately. I asked for a mattress topper and they came and put it on and I slept great the rest of the week! There are closets and dressers and shower is good with good water temp and pressure and good Ac. The grounds are nice and the sand is white powder and the ocean wavy and turquoise . Beautiful! Hard to get a seat on beach some days. There are 3 pools. And a kiddy area also. One is the swim up which is adults only and not big to swim. On each side of this are 2 larger pools which are for everyone but I think there should be an adults one also. It was Easter break so many kids so hard to swim in there. I like kids and have some but I think this would be a good idea. There is also a covered bar at the pool which is great with fans going. Service at bars is excellent! Froy at lobby bar makes great drinks :). I don’t know all names but staff are wonderful and work hard everywhere. Barbecue going at the pool everyday and food was great. I loved the burgers. The entertainment was fine at resort and typical of all inclusive. The Friday night parties at the Tequila are pretty great and the staff work hard putting those on. There is a sports bar at the tequila that has Ac and pool tables and tv also for people to enjoy. We walked over to the Yucatan which was more a jungle like feeling. Looked nice but the pool areas at ocean were so busy it looked like you could hardly get a drink. I believe it was that particular week. They have monkeys there which is nice to see. Across the street there are markets and it is nice to go there. If you want a great massage go there. The spa was pretty expensive in the hotel. We went into Playa del Carmen a few times as it is close by taxi and you can walk. We also took the ferry over to Cozumel which we liked. Had a great Margarita and apps over there. All in all a nice vacation and no stomach trouble . Would recommend.

    Book it !!!!!

Amazing experience at this resort. From the large variety of delicious food options to the incredible selections of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The buildings, grounds and rooms are all in excellent shape and the place is spotless... Every single staff member we encountered was fantastic and friendly. The beach and pools are incredible with no shortage of loungers what so ever. The entertainment was very good and the white party was a night to remember. The location is excellent with a market across the street and the famous 5th Avenue only a 25 minute walk away. I highly recommend this resort and am planning to return soon.

Husband and I were looking for a great getaway, and this place did not disappoint! Staff is amazing, and so very friendly. From the gorgeous beach area, with plenty of lounge chairs, to the swimming pool, and swim up bar, all great! The restaurants are fantastic, with plenty of options to choose from. Our rooms were made up daily, and the mini bar was always stocked. Lobby bar is fantastic as well, and the staff are great! From iced coffee, cappuccino, food on hand from 10pm, until 7am, to any cold alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage imaginable, they have it. Unless you are a night owl, I would stay away from the first building next to the theater . They have nightly shows and the music permeates right into the rooms, and is quite loud. Only other draw back, is that our room was not ready for check in, until after 4pm. Other than a couple of minor issues, I would totally recommend!

    Nice holiday!

We have just had a weeks stay at the Riu Playacar and enjoyed our stay. Positives: - Location is amazing, gorgeous long beach and plenty of loungers - 3 pools so plenty of space - The whole complex is immaculately clean - All staff are lovely and accommodating - Tried to accommodate for all nationalities with the general buffet food - Rooms are lovely and spacious and have everything you need - Plenty of entertainment and a great entertainment team Little improvements: - Food was hit and miss. Sometimes very nice but other times didn’t seem as fresh. - Corridors and the shower in the room look quite worn and dark and don’t have the standard of a 5 star hotel. - A selling point of this complex is the use of 2 other hotels facilities but these other 2 hotels have identical food options to this one so you might aswell just stay at your own hotel. Things to note: - Around a 30 minute walk to Fifth Avenue, this place is definitely worth a visit! Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. - Beach workers work tirelessly to clear the seaweed. Some days it is clear and lovely, but they don’t work on Sundays so on Sundays and Mondays the seaweed is washed up onto the beach. Overall we have had a lovely stay here and the staff are an asset to this hotel! They are all so helpful and accommodating and we’d like to thank them for such a nice stay.
