  Fun clean hotel with good entertainment

  First time to this hotel in Jamaica and overall very good. MOST staff are friendly although I feel some on reception could be a bit more friendlier. Great food choice although repetitive but I expect this when eating in the hotel 3 times a day so this doesn’t bother me. Wide selection of different cuisines available. Always a table to sit at no matter what time you come down. Entertainment staff are excellent and work very hard and walk around each morning saying hello to everyone. Activities throughout the day and night. Jamaica night show was fantastic and one of the best I’ve seen. Rooms are clean and nice and overall the hotel is very clean. Right in the beach with crystal clear water and some activities you can do from here. Within a 5 minute walk of KFC/Burgerking and shopping centre. It is SAFE to walk out of the hotel and people need to be told about this as most people don’t leave. You will get asked if you want to buy stuff as your walking but you just say no and carry on. We walked out a few times and was fine and the staff also safe it is safe but people need to change there mindset. KFC was a lot better than the UK and had to try it- however be prepared from moment walking in to getting your meal, can be about 50 minutes and Fridays are the busiest day as Jamaicans don’t cook on this day. Had a massage and staff excellent and so welcoming and this was fantastic. Would recommend this. Walking distance to Riu Montego Bay where you can go. Overall a great stay and I would return. Gave it 4 out of 5 just due to some staff being moody when speaking to them.

  Do not come here

  Actually was not impressed with this resort at all. Service was terrible. Don’t bother asking front desk for anything. You won’t get it. Including basics that should come with the room like ropes. Resort was packed. No open seating anywhere. Staff were not friendly or willing to help. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. Honestly. Have been to 3 star resorts on Cuba with better service and friendlier staff.

  Disappointing!

  I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Riu Reggae (1/16–1/19). I left my Beats earbuds in my room and immediately contacted the resort. I confirmed via tracking that they remained on property for days, yet I received delayed responses, no follow-up, disconnected calls, and ultimately the device was powered off. In addition, the resort app required for dining and spa reservations did not function, advertised restaurants were not consistently open, and reservations made through the app did not exist—forcing buffet dining for the entire stay. Additionally, We had access to the montego bay resort but was only permitted to eat lunch there. We also had an ant infestation in the room but room service did come and address this issue. Overall this was not the way I planned to spend my birthday and I will not return to this resort.

  Nice adults-only resort but extremely loud

  Spent one week at the adults-only Riu Reggae Resort in Montego Bay. The grounds are well maintained, employees are friendly and helpful, and overall the food was good. A bit repetitive but that's always to be expected. Unfortunately, the resort is extremely loud. Although they say that there is a 'quiet zone pool and beach area' the resort is quite small so it is right beside the loud party pool and beach area. Very loud music plays constantly. I would not recommend this resort if you are seeking some peace and quiet.

  Excellent Hotel and Staff...

  What friendly welcoming people... 1st time solo traveller to Jamaica and Riu Reggae, so a bit apprehensive. I shouldn't have worried. Check-in was easy and found my room, however I had an issue connecting with wifi. The next day I reported this and Dre on reception was brilliant, and connected both my tablet and phone. However the issue was the location of the room. I went again to reception and Kemur, listened to my problem, and suggested I try to connect on a higher floor... He can with me to the upper floor (2nd), and we successfully connected to the Wi-Fi (being a Solo Traveller I use Wi-Fi a lot). Kemur then said the room was available, and would be happy for me to move.... Within 2 hours, I was a very happy customer in a new room with Wi-Fi... Kemur made sure I was happy by follow up phone calls and personally checking I was happy... Cannot fault either Kemur or Dre... Also, can I nightlight Marlene, who waitresses the bar and beach, also a credit to the hotel... Brilliant memory ensuring my glass was never empty... Thank you Riu... Your staff are brilliant. Resort isn't bad either!
