10/10
Wonderful resort, great customer service very clean. Will definitely come back again. It would be great if they had elevators other than that everything was 10 out of 10.

Great experience
This was my husband and my first trip back to Mexico since the mid 1970's. We tend to go to Hawaii, but our kids told us they go to Cabo because it is a much better value for their money and time. Two of my kids have gone to Cabo, one highly recommended the Riu Santa Fe because that's where they stay when they go. It is all inclusive and has something for every possible age group. We had a family reunion to celebrate our 50th anniversary and had 22 family members there, ranging in age from 3 to 74; and everyone was happy, especially the 6 young people aged 21-25 who thoroughly enjoyed the Riu parties/night club action. (All of us enjoyed it except the few kids who could not attend due to age.) The grounds and buildings were Very Clean, with people cleaning all the time. There were many different restaurants and food choices at each restaurant to satisfy nearly all dietary needs. It was a lovely vacation!

Beautiful Resort, but not for children.
I wouldn’t bring my pre-teen (or a teenager) back here. We arrived during the Pink Party, an afternoon foam party that runs until 7 p.m. Our ground-floor room, Villa 8, was directly beside the event and did not have the Partial Ocean View we paid for. On the way there, we saw multiple guests being wheeled out, including one very intoxicated passed-out young woman with vomit down her chest. No concierge assistance was offered, and the map we were given directed us straight to the party area. After a long day of travel, I didn’t expect to have a conversation with my 10-year-old about overconsumption before even reaching our room. The experience didn’t stop there. To reach the wave pool, you have to pass the foam party venue, and the only entrance to the beach goes past two adult infinity pools with bars. My child was consistently exposed to club vibes, and daily, I was not discreetly asked if I wanted to buy drugs while walking down the ramp toward the beach with my children. Every night, the partying continued, even after the 11pm shut down of the night foam parties. And on two separate nights, we had knocks on our door at 3 a.m. accompanied by loud voices and blasting music. That said, there were positives: the wave pool was fun, with a good lifeguard-to-slide ratio. The service was excellent, the washrooms were impressively clean, security was visible (though not in the hallways of Villa 8 at 3 a.m.), we liked the beach venders and got the braids, henna, and hats, and the hotel entertainment was enjoyable- special shoutout to the Michael Jackson impersonator. I didn’t leave this feedback while there, how do you tell a party hotel there is too much party? They did their best to provide all the comforts within their template. And maybe we’ll be back after my children are grown and can all handle the constant party atmosphere, the male-gaze vibe, and the safety concerns that comes with being a mom of girls.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, NO RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT
Stayed: November 1–8, 2025 My mother and I stayed at Riu Santa Fe for 7 days, and while I want to acknowledge that some staff members were very kind and the food was decent, our overall experience was extremely disappointing. Anyone considering this resort deserves to know the reality. 1. First Room – Out-of-Control Noise Our first room was next to extremely loud guests who partied all night. They shouted, slammed doors repeatedly, and made it impossible to sleep. We felt uncomfortable and even unsafe due to how aggressive they were. We were moved after complaining, but this was only the beginning. 2. Second Room – Disgustingly Dirty Mattress + Bed Bug Bites The second room had a filthy, stained mattress — one of the worst I’ve ever seen in any hotel anywhere. After sleeping there, my mother developed multiple bed bug bites on her hands, feet, and chest. When we reported this, housekeeping simply said “there are no bed bugs,” and only sprayed mosquito spray. This was completely unacceptable and dismissive of a serious hygiene issue. I insisted on speaking to a manager. Only when I showed him the photos of the mattress and the bites did he finally react, looking shocked before agreeing to move us again. 3. Final Room – Cleaner but Still Too Noisy The last room we were moved to, in a newer building, was cleaner and better maintained. But it was near a party area, and the noise continued late into the night. After everything my mother had gone through, this made it very difficult for her to rest. 4. Zero Response from Customer Service I contacted Riu customer service and sent them photos of everything — the mattress, the bites, and the conditions. I have still received absolutely no response. For a resort of this size and brand, this lack of accountability is unacceptable. 5. Comparing Riu Santa Fe to Riu Palace (Next Door) We also visited Riu Palace, which is located right next to Santa Fe. The difference is shocking: • Riu Palace is much cleaner • The food quality is noticeably higher • The atmosphere is calm, relaxing, and quiet • The guests there were able to actually rest • The overall environment feels better maintained and far more professional After seeing how Riu Palace operates, it became very clear that Riu Santa Fe is not managed at the same standard, especially regarding cleanliness, noise control, and customer care. BOTTOM LINE If you’re considering Riu Santa Fe, please be aware: • Expect extreme noise, day and night. • Rooms can have dirty mattresses. • We experienced bed bug bites. • Staff may not take serious issues seriously unless you push. • Customer service may never follow up. • Riu Palace next door is much better in every way — food, cleanliness, comfort, and atmosphere. I am attaching the photos of the mattress and my mother’s bed bug bites so guests can see the reality firsthand. We tried to enjoy our trip because we love Mexico, but this hotel experience was stressful, disappointing, and absolutely not worth the money.
