Feb 23, 2026Drugs and parties...... No thank you
Let me start off with staff... They are amazing! The issues we had were the drugs being sold on the beach and the noise level in the hotel/building 7 after the parties. We had people screaming untill 3am in the halls. No one regulates the noise levels or smoking. The room next to us had people smoking on there balcony for most of our trip. We have been to this resort in the past and that is why we returned due to familiarity and likeness of the resort. Unfortunately, this past experience was not as good as previous stays. The number one complaint we have is that we were upgraded to a Riu Party room which was a huge mistake. The noise from the Riu Parties (3) were horrendous. Riu Parties (4 in total) were not there the last time we stayed and definitely feel like a spring break vibe. While we are older and like to party, listening to the younger crowd which is what these parties cater to, made for sleepless nights as they partied until 2 a.m. Outside and inside - loud music and voices. We were not aware of what an upgrade to Riu Party meant and feel that this should've have been explained when the upgrade was offered. On a positive note, we enjoyed the many pools and swim up bars. The bartenders were friendly and happy to serve us. The food wasn't bad. Got tired of the buffets offering same food every day. We ended up eating dinner out twice. Would recommend Santa Fe but not the Riu Party rooms.

Pools were dirty. Beach is unswimable. Restaurants for dinner were a cluster and difficult to access. Seemed overwhelmed during busy season with lack of staff

Feb 22, 2026Mold smelling room
Spent a week there usually stay at the RIU Baja but had kids this trip. Got an ocean view suit room #7026. Was bottom floor only view was of the pool loungers. The main issue is everything and I mean everything smelled like mold even clothes not touched. Had to wash everything right down to my make up bag. When there pillows smelled so nasty I used a towel and a bathrobe to sleep on. One morning at 5am we woke up to a water coming from the roof, looked like this has happened before. When mentioned to the front desk was just told they were full and we had to stay. Unfortunately will NEVER ever go back. Just a heads up

Check in was fast and we received the area we requested. Room was nice and clean and well stocked. Download the app. Any requests are handled quickly. Stayed in room 6014, close to amenities. Edna in customer service was excellent help during our stay. There is many choices for meals. The buffet was well stocked with fresh food.Thank you Connie for your excellent service. The Americana and Sakura were very good with very little wait times. The Kulinan was so good meals and service were excellent. The view from the beach bars and that buffet were spectacular. The grounds are very well kept. The chicken at peppys is really spicy hot, if you could add your own hot sauce it would make it nice for all. I would highly recommend this hotel. Hope to return.
