The folks that operate the Riu were great, very friendly, helpful, and lots of fun. They only concern was the shower needed some attention to the seal around thexdoor.

Pros - Room, indoor areas and pools, beach very nice. Rooms cleaned well, beds good some thought too firm, generous size. Cons - birds everywhere eating off tables crapping on chairs, cleanup of this very lacking, keep your eyes open before seating. Food barely OK - 3 star stuff even the specialty restaurants - exception the small gourmet which was quite good. Washrooms few for the people and cleanliness poor often very poor. Little drink service, expect to line up. Overall 3-1/2 * - we travel a lot. Place has great potential but seems to be run by accountants trimming every corner. No ‘little things’ done well that inspire loyalty

Friendly staff and this is a great location if you prefer to venture further out into Nayarit, yet close to Puerto Vallarta and the airport.

Very impressed!
Nothing negative to say about this Hotel. Very clean, even the beach. Rooms very comfortable. Food was amazing-something for everyone. Great service. Definitely going back.

A great vacation
We stayed at the Riu Vallarta for 7 days. The third week of November/2024. The stay was very relaxed. We participated in some of the games that were offered. Very entertaining. The staff were very efficient and helpful. The buffet has a wide variety, to suit every appetite. The room was very comfort. We would love to stay there again.
