Sep 06, 2026Nice hotel
Hotel was very well presented. Really appreciated the room upgrade, despite being a couple of faults with the room (wardrobe door hanging off and one of the bedside lights didn’t work) not a major issue though and rest of the room was great. Food was generally good, though did find a lot of the items in the buffet were cold so not sure if the hot plates weren’t strong enough. Even arriving for breakfast at 7am when it opened a lot of the cooked breakfast items were already cold. Dined at the Italian one evening but found the host extremely rude and not at all welcoming which is very much the opposite of the rest of the staff at the hotel. The main pool was very crowded, as was the pool bar. Spent most of the time on the beach but just a shame about the amount of seaweed, which we knew about and know it’s a natural thing, but didn’t realise there would be as much as there was. The RIU party area was great, it’s very well planned having its own venue that all the hotels can use.

This is our 4 trip to this hotel and once again had a very enjoyable stay. The team are great from the front desk to the bar and entertainment teams. Great food options and great service in the restaurants. The only downside was our suitcases were broken into at the airport and items stolen which didn’t become evident until we arrived at the hotel. We missed the opportunity to report to security at the airport but did report it to the TIU reps at the hotel. Beware do not pack items of value in your hold luggage. This is not a reflection on this hotel but a warning when traveling through Punta Cana airport.

AMAZING PLACE!!!
This is my 3rd time staying at the Riu Hotels: 1 at the one in Aruba, and the last 2 at the one in Punta Cana. What an amazing place!!. The staff is very friendly and helpful: Vianca and Saul at the front desk, and the staff from the buffet !! We had a little issue with the room, and they took care of it immediately. The food was delicious. I just suggest having more typical dishes. I was very pleased with everything there.

Weekend Getaway
What impressed me the most was the changes of free drinks at the PACHA RIU club. Unlike before, where guests had to pay for drinks, despite staying at the All inclusive, which was absurd. People complained and obtaining Great results. Bravo guys, well done.!!! Drinks at the Riu Palace Punta Cana should be updated, lack of/ zero Cognac , cheap whiskey For the amount of money ipaidfor the stay is ridiculous 🙄!!!!

Very Good
This was an excellent property. The reason for the 4 stars is because the room needed a deep cleaning specially the bathroom. The staff made our stay because they made us feel welcome specially the dining staff. A big thank You to Orlando, Dionis, Morrillo, Francisca and Maris.
