Won't be coming back to this resort

Room was not ready. Had to go to west tower on 3rd floor. No upgrade for platinum elite. Had to ask for the water bottle. Not very happy. Rather goto baha mar any day. Too bad this was good resort. Its sad. On top of it, there are millions college kids. May be this is how they keep filling the free rooms.

    Great Resort - Bad Attitudes.

Great resort. Plenty to do right on site. Be prepared to spend money for meals. Extremely expensive. The biggest negative is the attitude of the servers in most of all the restaurants we ate at. Casino servers and sports betting area hardly saw one smile on any of them the 5 days we were there. In the sports casino area, they would not change the big TVs for the events that everyone wanted to watch. Happened at least 5 times while we were there. The answer was always no, we can’t do that. Almost all had some sort of attitude and acted like they were doing us a favor. Front desk people as well. We had a few issues because we were there for the food and wine festival and the right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing. Tons and tons of operational issues at the facility. I will say the shuttle drivers, cleaning staff and the front entrance staff were great. We gave this place 4 stars only because of the attitude. If they ever figure out the attitude issues, this could be the best place on the island. This reflection is not just mine, but all 4 of us traveling together and a few folks we met there.

    Great Family Resort

Great trip and resort. There are so many great pools to choose from. Lots of food services and the beaches were well maintained with crystal clear water. Wish there were more slides open for us to try. The rapids river was fantastic, just enough rapids and relaxing moments.

    Huge, busy, expensive but beautiful.

Pros: *At check-in, we were given metal water bottles. There are lots of filling stations. The water didn’t taste great, but not terrible. It kept us hydrated and didn’t make us sick and saved us from buying very expensive bottled water. *It was never difficult to find a spot at the pools or beach. *There are lots of options for meals and everything we ate was good (especially Shake Shack and Carmine’s). *Check-in was efficient. *Staff was friendly. *Our room was clean and comfortable. *There are lots of aquariums with beautiful marine animals. Cons: *Meals and drinks were very expensive. *The property is huge with lots of stairs so expect to do a lot of walking. It didn’t appear to be very accessible. We saw a few elevators that were out of service. *It is very busy. There are sometimes waits for the elevators to the guest rooms. *Some of the pools were very cold. *A 15% gratuity was included at bars and restaurants. It was not brought to our attention but fortunately we noticed. A side note: This is not a reflection of the Atlantis. We went to the supermarket and liquor store across the street. At one of the two, our credit card information was stolen and we received notifications for the rest of our trip regarding attempts at fraudulent charges. I recommend paying cash off resort.

    Still paradise…

Just got back from an amazing vacation at the Royal Atlantis! I’ve been there before when I was 14 and now returning 27years later with my hubby n kids was just epic! This was my birthday gift to my hubby - he’s the best and I went all out to make sure he had a memorable birthday and he certainly did! Let’s start with checkin at the front desk - Still not too sure what happened with the suite we booked (2bedroom/2bthroom) suite, HOWEVER, no qualms about it since Tyronique at check-in was amazing at getting this fixed by upgrading us to the 20th floor Royal Suite/Penthouse! We were on the top floor with views at every angle - double door entry with half bathroom and an office enclave off the entry, living/dining room, kitchen plus even a bar area, huge primary suite with his/her bathrooms, walk in closet, 2nd bedroom with 2 full size beds and full bathroom with jetted tub and shower plus walk in closet. Whilst it was not one of the ‘updated’ suites (at least not yet), it was still tastefully decorated and spotless thanks to housekeeping. BIG Up to Tyronique and Quan at check-in for making this possible! Bellhop - Cannot forget the AMAZING AMAZING service provided by Ricardo at bellhop. Very personable, genuine and courteous and provides exceptional service. He gave us a walking tour with tips and suggestions for where to eat/activities etc while he walked us to our suite. At every turn he was educating us about the resort/grounds.. Amazing guy, will never forget Ricardo! Amenity/room service - I ordered a red velvet cake for my husband’s birthday and must say, hats off to the bakery team! The cake/decor was top notch n AMAZING!! DINING- well, let’s just say, if you’re planning on a vacay at the Atlantis, do your research - you can actually view all the menus with prices at the several dining options available and plan accordingly! Do not go blindly, as this is NOT an all inclusive resort and that is clearly noted on their website. So, do your research to see if this resort is really for you/your pocket. We did not do the meal plan since it wouldn’t have made sense for our family. With that said we did budget accordingly and pre-planned where we’d like to eat. We tried the buffet for breakfast n dinner and must say it was lackluster n a bit disappointing esp for the dinner options. Overall we weren’t big fans of the buffet. We tried Bimini Rd for dinner and returned twice! The food was amazing here and staff was very professional n courteous. We had their conch fritters (amazing), lobster tail (kids favorite), jerk chicken, ribs, salmon.. can’t remember specific names of the dishes, but all amazing. This brings me to my least favorite of the ‘fine dining’ options we tried -Fish by Jose Andres located at the Cove…. We were very disappointed. I had made a reservation for our Friday night dinner (husband’s birthday) and boy, was I disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high but after all, I think I’m allowed to have high expectations for the HIGH price tag at this restaurant. The wait staff seemed so tired and just dull energy.. we along with several if not all the tables were waiting a very long time for any portion of our service. Had it not been my hubby’s birthday and my aim at just trying to make the best out of this very expensive mistake, I would’ve walked out. I realized pretty quickly that their menu has an exhaustive list of wines/liquor which I realized the wait staff were quick n ready to take orders on.. so I got to figure out the long wait for food was literally a trap to get diners into ordering refill on wine etc.. very cheeky. When we FINALLY got our main course…. Let’s leave it at “…”, honestly don’t know what I paid for.. food was not that great! Left upset at my choice but lesson learnt! OVERALL- GREAT resort, even after 27 years of me being there! In my opinion they’ve done a great job with the upkeep/maintenance.. it’s still paradise to me and the grounds are immaculate! I would LOVE to visit again n can hopefully even tour the Royal suite once it’s updated. My advice - great for couples and families alike. You’ll see other reviews saying food is way overpriced etc, which may be the case but that is why it’s important to do your research first and decide if you’re comfortable paying the extra for food for what will be an epic n unforgettable vacation! In a nutshell we had an AMAZING time and great memories especially for my little ones.. some things are just worth the extra penny in my eyes, just see what’s right for you. Be blessed n enjoy God’s gift of life! #onelove
